BABY KOALAS SLOWLY DISAPPEARING IN AUSTRALIA, RAZOR COMPANY BLAMED

imageSydney, Australia (The Adobo Chronicles) – Koalas, incorrectly called koala bears, are slowly diappearing from the Australian continent, thanks to an advertising campaign launched by a razor company.

The razor ads feature bearded male models who, upon closer examination, are actually ‘sporting’ baby koalas on their faces. The ad photos have gone viral and many Australian men have caught on to the new fad.

Koalas have once been considered an endangered species and the Australian government fears the new fad will evetually lead to the extinction of these cuddly, furry animals.

Animal rights groups in Australia have threatened to sue the razor company for instigating this fad. Barbers who have lost a lot of business lately, have said they will join in this class-action law suit.

As for the razor company, sales have plummeted. Their ad campaign to promote shaving backfired.

SALINE SHORTAGE IN U.S. CAUSES PANDEMONIUM AMONG CONTACT LENS USERS

imageSan Francisco, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Hospitals across the country are struggling to deal with a shortage of one of their essential medical supplies. Manufacturers are rationing saline — a product used all over the hospital to clean wounds, mix medications or treat dehydration. Now drug companies say they won’t be able to catch up with demand until next year.

Upon hearing the news, contact lens users across the country went into a serious state of pandemonium, rushing to pharmacies and other retail outlets to purchase whatever saline solution was left on the display shelves. Saline solution is used to store and sterilize contact lenses.

Other consumers not lucky enough to find saline to hoard flocked to groceries and supermarkets to stock up on table salt. (Sodium chloride is the main ingredient in saline).

Capture“This develoment is life-changing for me,” said one consumer, Michael, after purchasing 10 packs of saline solution from his neighborhood Walgreens in San Francisco’s gay Castro district. “I’ve been wearing blue contacts all my life and all my friends have known me to be a blue-eyed, blonde boy,” he said. “I can’t  deal with the embarrassment if they discover that I’m really black-haired and black-eyed! I hope they also don’t run out of hair dye.”

For now, Michael will get through Pride Week and Halloween just fine without any change in his persona.

AMAZON GOOFS, SENDS PORN VIDEO TO ONLINE PURCHASERS OF HILLARY CLINTON’S NEW BOOK

Seattleimage, Washington (The Adobo Chronicles) – Amazon, the largest online retailer of books and other commercial products, has issued an apology for an embarrassing shipping error in which it mailed out a 1987 porn movie to customers who ordered Hillary Clinton’s new book, ‘Hard Choices.’ The porn flick, directed  by Ron Sullivan who passed away from cancer in 2008, had the exact same title as Clinton’s book.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who recently bought The Washington Post for $250 Million, personally called Mrs. Clinton to apologize for what he called a serious computer glitch. Bezos said that an Amazon summer intern typed in the wrong International Standard Book Number (ISBN) when he was generating the bar code for Clinton’s book. The intern apparently typed in the ISBN for the porn video.image

It wasn’t immediately known how many copies of the video have so far been shipped to customers.

Bezos also apologized to Amazon’s customers who received the wrong order, saying Amazon will immediately ship the correct item.  He is matching the apology with a $50 Amazon gift card for future online  purchases.

As for the porn video, Bezos said customers who received it in error can keep it at no charge. “No need to ship it back.”
