NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – The estate of Marvin Hamlisc, composer of the musical “A Chorus Line,” is suing Filipino blogger Drew Olivar for copyright infringement.
The lawsuit stems from Olivar’s now viral video with Mocha Uson, showing him displaying his song and dance moves supposedly calling attention to Federalism. His piece is entitled “Pepedederalismo.”
We won’t show you the Olivar video here. There’s a lot of that already floating on the Internet. What we will show you is an excerpt from one of the live performances of “A Chorus Line,” particulary of the song “Tits and Ass.”
We’ll let our readers decide on the merits of the lawsuit.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – After receiving news that alleged PDAF Queen Janet Napoles and her kin were formally charged in the United States for money laundering, Vice President Leni Robredo sent The Adobo Chronicles this comment:
”Tunay na nakakabahala. Nguni’t higit sa lahat, sayang ang perang nilabhan. Bakit kailangang gawin ito? Madumi naman talaga ang pera, hindi na dapat labhan at ikula. Sana, ipinamahagi na lang ito sa mga kababayan natin sa laylayan.”
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – Mover over, Great Wall of China and the Pyramids of Egypt. The Philippines just earned a spot — no, two spots — in the new list of ‘Wonders of the World.’
Bohol province just made it to the list with its Chocolate Hills.
And Baguio City is now recognized for its Chocolate Lake at Burnham Park.
Congratulations to Bohol, and especially to Baguio!
