APPLE NIXES iPHONE 6, WILL UNVEIL iPHONE 7

imageCupertino, California  (The Adobo Chronicles) – The rumor mill is overflowing with lots of speculation that Apple will unveil its next series of its popular iPhone this August, a month earlier than its usual schedule in announcing its new products.

After speaking with very reliable sources inside Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, The Adobo Chronicles can now confirm that the Silicon Valley tech giant will indeed unveil the next generation iPhone on August 1, but it will not be an iPhone 6.

Sources said that Apple is skipping the iPhone 6 and will instead come out with the iPhone 7. The reason? Apple executives realize that the number ‘6’ is bad for business and that the company wants to be politically correct and sensitive to the religious and superstitious beliefs of its loyal customer base.

To add the number 6 to its smartphone, given that the current operating system (iOS) is version 10.66, Apple fears that it may be accused of promoting the Anti-Christ or the devil. In the bible and other literature,  the Anti-Christ and devil are represented by the numbers 666.

The good news for iPhone fans is that the new version of the smartphone is thinner, bigger, faster and transparent ( see photo).

In less than 24 hours since announcing the new iPhone 7, Apple said that the backorder and waiting time for the iPhone 7 is now estimated to be 666 days.

‘SELFITIS,’ ‘CYBERESPIONAGE,’ ‘PROTOPLANET’ NEWEST WORDS IN OXFORD DICTIONARIES

imageLondon, Great Britain – Oxford University has just announced the newest additions to the world’s largest dictionary in English.

Technology and the Interet are as popular as ever in providing new words, from lock screen and headcam to cyberespionage. Cyberespionage came about as a result of recently-revealed practices by the U.S. National Security Administration (NSA) to spy on phone conversations and Internet communications among governments and private citizens.

Astrology’s newest word contribution is protoplanet, defined as a small celestial object that is the size of a moon or a bit bigger.  Astronomers believe that these objects form during the creation of a solar system.

Food coma, another addition to the Oxford Dictionaries, is the feeling of listlessness, bordering on sleep, that one feels after eating a large meal, often caused by a rush of blood to the stomach and intestines during food digestion.

But the most popular yet controversial word addition is ‘selfitis,’ the obsessive-compulsive urge to take photos of one’s self and post them on social media.  Earlier this month, The Adobo Chronicles broke the story regarding the American Psychiatric Association officially classifying selfie-taking as a mental disorder.

Last year, Oxford Dictionaries named ‘selfie’ as their 2013 word of the year.  Will ‘selfitis’ be the word for 2014?

WHY HAWAII’S NEXT NEW CONGRESSMAN COULD BE REPUBLICAN

Charles Djou
Charles Djou

Honolulu, Hawaii – We all know about Blue Hawaii, the bluest of states. But the Republicans have a good chance of sending one of their own to the U.S. Congress come the 2014 elections, in the person of Charles Djou of the 1st Congressional district of Oahu.

The Huffington Post  lists 8 reasons why Hawaii could elect a Republican candidate in this year’s congressional elections.

The Adobo Chronicles agrees with the No. 8 reason listed by HuffPost: that Charles has a memorable last name, one that voters would easily remember when they enter the polling booth.

Imagine a candidate whose last name is humuhumunukunukuapua’a. Okay, that’s Hawaii’s state fish, but you know what we mean.

Charles’ last name is easy enough to remember. Is it a cross between French and Chinese. But voters just need to think about the mustard they put on their BBQ burgers or their loco mocos: dijon.
