LONDON, United Kingdom (The Adobo Chronicles, Paris Bureau) – Stephen Sackur wants to do something different for an upcoming episode of his BBC talk show, “Hardtalk.” He wants a live showdown between Philippine Senatorial candidate Bong Revilla and British comedian Rowan Atkinson, more populary known for his TV character, Mr. Bean. Not an ordinary showdown, but a dance showdown.

Philippine Political Opposition Holds Memorial Service
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Conceding devastating defeat in last week’s midterm elections, the Philippines’ political opposition headed by Vice President Leni Robredo held a memorial service last night at the University of the Philippines Diliman campus.
The event came on the eve of the expected proclamation Sunday of the winning Senatorial Candidates by the Commission on Elections. None of the Opposition slate calling themselves Otso Diretso made it to the winning Magic 12.
”Nakakabahala, pero kailangan nating respetuhin ang boses ng sambayanan,” Robredo said in a very emotional speech in lieu of the usual homily by the mass celebrant. (It’s disturbing but we have to respect the voice of the nation.)
Those in attendance at the Memorial Service included ex-President NoyNoy Aquino and defeated Senatorial candidates Bam Aquino and Mar Roxas. No other Otso Diretso candidates showed up.
All came dressed in white, a neutral color.
When asked by The Adobo Chronicles to comment on the election results, the former President said, “Na-onse sa dose ang Otso Diretso” – loosely translated as “The Otso Diretso were scammed out of the (Magic) twelve.”
No future Opposition plans were reveled at the service, but this Liberal Party video was shown at the end of the event:
DFA To Provide Filipinos With Free Cruise To Canada
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippines’ Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin is making good on his promise to help expedite the migration of Filipinos who are disappointed with results of the May 13 midterm elections in which the entire Opposition Senatorial slate was practically wiped out.
Locsin announced that the Philippine and Canadian governments have signed a Memorandum of Agreement whereby Filipinos wanting to immigrate to Canada will be accommodated in the containers of trash that will be shipped back to Canada.
The shipment consists or containers of trash that were shipped to the Philippines from Canada years ago under the guise of being recyclable plastic.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Dutete threatened to declare war on Canada if it didn’t take back its trash immediately.
Philippine envoys in Canada have been recalled as a consequence of the trash conflict.
Locsin told The Adobo Chronicles that Filipinos who will be shipped to Canada with the trash won’t spend a single dime, and that they will be exempted from securing a visa for entry into Canada.
A pretty good deal that can’t be refused!
