What Mayor Rod Duterte Plans To Do With NAIA If Elected President

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Laglag bala, brownouts, collapsed ceilings, flooding, non-functioning airconditioning units, lost luggage, extortion,  you name it.  The Filipinos and international travelers visiting Manila have had it with the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the world’s worst airport according to many travel surveys.

Well, so has presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Today, Duterte made the biggest and most popular promise in his campaign.

“On my first day in office, I will rename NAIA back to Manila International Airport, because international pilots have a hard time saying the name when communicating with air traffic control.”

“Secondly, I will fire ALL airport personnel starting with Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Jose Angel Honrado.  He’ll be a gonner!”

“Next, I will ask all fired employees except Honrado to reapply, but only after going through a lie-detector test.  Only those who pass the test will be considered for re-employment.  There will only be one question in the test: have you ever done any hocus-pocus while employed at NAIA?”

Minutes after he made this campaign promise, Duterte’s national poll ratings shot up to 98%, assuring him of a landslide victory in the May 9, 2016 Philippine elections.

Hail the new president!

Hillary Clinton Is First Woman Ever To Win Iowa Caucus, Also First Woman Defeated

imageDES MOINES, Iowa (The Adobo Chronicles) – Former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the first woman ever to win the Iowa Caucus, her razor edge-thin margin over Senator Bernie Sanders nothwithstanding.

Of course, the Clinton campaign and the liberal news media can spin Tuesday’s Iowa Caucus results every which way, buy history was truly and accurately made when she won over Sanders.

This is the second significant political campaign record achieved by Clinton.

In 2008, she became the first woman to be defeated by a black man in the Iowa Caucus!

Philippine Presidential Candidates Gear Up For Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival

imageBAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Some 2.5 Million people are expected to attend this year’s festivities for the annual Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, the Philippines’ summer capital.

The month-long celebration of the blooming of flowers begins February 1st and will culminate in a grand street parade later in the month.

2016, of course, is presidential election year in the Philippines, and it would unwise for the candidates to ignore this enormous opportunity to campaign.

Today, The Adobo Chronicles has confirmed that all five major presidential candidates will participate in the street parade, and all have chosen their respective costumes and attires for the grand celebration

The five candidates are Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas (who will be parading with his wife, broadcaster Korina Sanchez), Senators Grace Poe and Miriam Defensor-Santiago, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

While none of the candidates revealed their chosen costume, they allowed us to publish an artist’s rendition of how they will look like in the parade. (See photo)

Who do you think looks the most presidential?
