DONALD TRUMP ANGERS ASIANS AND ASIAN AMERICANS

China's Great Wall
China’s Great Wall

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Donald Trump’s disparaging remarks about Mexicans continue to wreak havoc on his business relationships, first with Univision, then NBC Universal, and now Macy’s. All have severed their ties with the presidential candidate.

Now, he has also angered Asians and Asian Americans for proposing to build a “great wall” on the U.S. southern border to keep Mexicans out.

Asians took offense with the comment, saying that Trump practically disrespected one of the world’s greatest wonders — the Great Wall of China — and what it represents.

The Great Wall — or the majority of it — was built during China’s Ming Dynasty, considered one of the greatest eras of orderly government and social stability in human history. “In using a reference to the Great Wall in his misguided tirade against what he believed to be Mexican rapists, drug addicts and criminals, Trump has belittled  a world symbol of greatness, determination and resiliency,” a spokesperson for an Asian American coalition said.

So, not only has Trump lost the Latino vote, but also the Asian American vote. Ironically, a new poll shows Trump surging to second place behind former Florida Governor Jeb Bush in the crowded race for the Republication nomination for president.

Maybe, his message of keeping America free of non-white people is resonating with many conservative voters?

SAN FRANCISCO TO HOST GINGER PRIDE IN 2016

imageSAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles ®) – It’s been a great year to be proud. The 2015 Pride celebration in San Francisco will go down in history as the most celebrated LGBT event ever, happening just days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality.

So, what’s the next big thing in San Francisco? Ginger Pride.

The Dutch are to hold their tenth successive Roodharigendag festival, otherwise known as Redhead Day and the UK’s first Ginger Pride Walk was hosted in Edinburgh – with a throng of Scottish marchers standing up against gingerism and bluey bullying.

San Francisco doesn’t want to be left behind. After all, it is the city that pioneered gay marriage in the U.S.  So, it is planning for the first ever Ginger Pride in the country to honor what seems to  be a diminishing breed.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee issued a nationwide call for all ginger-haired people to gather in the city in the summer of 2016 for the first U.S. Ginger Pride Celebration.

A sea of ginger-haired people will fill several blocks of Market Street in a grand parade, followed by a ginger festival at the Civic Center Plaza. City Hall at night will light up for an entire week in ginger color.

Lee’s invitation is open to all naturally ginger-haired people only which disappointed many in the gay, as well as Filipino communities. But the mayor explained that the goal of the festival is to draw national attention to bullying constantly experienced by authentic gingers.

One San Francisco ginger praised the decision saying that she is always approached by people in bars, malls and even at work, with the question, “Wow, your hair is lovely! Where did you get it done?”

Hollywood actress Emma Stone will be the parade’s grand marshal. Although she is a natural blonde, the Ginger Pride Committee thought she represents the perfect ginger. And she’s a celebrity that would draw crowds to this fun event.

DONALD TRUMP DECIDES TO RENAME HIS PAGEANT ‘MISS EASTERN UNIVERSE’

imageLAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles®) – Day by day, Donald Trump’s Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants are facing more trouble — a continuing fall out from the business mogul’s derogatory comments about Mexicans during his announcement of his candidacy for president of the United States.  He called Mexicans “rapists, drug addicts and criminals.”

As a result of his insensitive remarks, the Spanish-language television network, Univision, severed its business relationship with Trump, saying it will not be airing the July 12 Miss USA or Miss Universe pageant later this year. Trump is suing Univision for $500 Million.

Soon after, NBC Universal also announced that it is “firing” Trump by not airing the two pageants and canceling the Donald’s “Celebrity Apprentice” television series. No  lawsuit has yet been filed against NBC, but that’s obviously coming in the next few days.

Today, Mexico announced that it will not be sending a representative to the Miss Universe pageant this year, and there are strong indications that many other Spanish-speaking countries  in South America and Europe will follow suit.

The absence of the western countries that are in solidarity with Mexico will create a noticeable void in Trump’s international pageant. (Latin countries have fared extremely well in the pageant .)

In a desperate attempt to prevent the total demise of the Miss Universe Pageant, Trump, speaking from his penthouse suite at the Trump Towers in Las Vegas, announced that he was renaming the Miss Universe Pageant the “Miss Eastern Universe Pageant” to better reflect the demographics and representation of candidates that will result from the Western countries’ boycott of his pageant.
