MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Many will recall when in October last year, Philippine actress Agot Isidro took to Twitter to criticize President Rodrigo Duterte, calling him a “psychopath.”

The president had a classic response, saying that Isidro had a constitutional right to free expression.

Well, Isidro took that constitutional right a step further in a timely fashion by designing a limited edition wrist watch which will be jointly manufactured and distributed by Swiss watch maker Patek Philippe and Japanese watch maker Seiko.

Unconfirmed reports say that Filipino American millionaire and Duterte critic Loida Nicolas-Lewis is investing an undisclosed amount in this joint venture.

Isidro and Nicolas-Lewis expect this new designer watch to be a psychopathic success.

The watch hits the international market on February 1, 2017.

Aquino Denies Duterte’s Accusation On Mamasapano Massacre

img_8695MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – On the eve of the second anniversary of the bungled Mamasapano operation, President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday dogged the past Aquino administration over the delayed justice for the 44 Special Action Forces (SAF) troopers killed in an encounter with Moro Islamic Liberation Front and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters on January 25, 2015.

Speaking before the families of 39 slain SAF commandos held at the Palace’s Heroes Hall, the President said that there was a violation committed when the Aquino administration sent the elite police in an operation against high value targets.

Duterte pointed responsibility at NoyNoy Aquino, saying that the former president fed the SAF troopers “to the lion’s den to be eaten by death.”

Aquino vehemently denied the accusation. “There is absolutely no proof that the government or the rebels owned and operated a lion’s den. There simply are no lions in the Philippines to begin with, except perhaps in the zoo,” Aquino said.

President Trump, Citing 2010 Supreme Court Decision, Insists Crowd At His Inauguration Was The Largest In History

img_8682WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – No national issue is more important to President Donald Trump than the number of people who attended  his inauguration in Washington, D.C.

He is irked by news media suggestions that there were a lot of empty spaces at the National Mall during his oath-taking ceremony.  Trump’s spokespersons insist that the crowd that attended his inauguration was the largest in historty.

Trump used a 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision (Citizens United) to back up his argument about the inauguration crowd.

That court decision allowed unlimited corporate and union spending on political issues, resulting in the how popular notion that “corporations are people.”

“In the same light,” Trump declared, “empty spaces are people.”
