Global Warming: Thousands Flock To Kentucky’s Noah’s Ark, Refuse To Leave

imageWILLIAMSTOWN, Kentucky – Christians all over the world know the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, built by a man who receivecd an apocalypatic warning from God about a massive flood.

Today, in Williamstown, Kentucky, a 510-foot-long (155 metre-long) wooden model of the ark is attracting thousands of curious tourists who are treated to a unique experience of what it may have looked like inside the biblical ark — complete with animal displays mimicking the famous story in the bible.

Answers in Genesis, the ministry that built the ark, said the ship’s dimensions are based on those described in the bible — 85ft (26m) wide and 51ft (15m) high.

The new attraction charges an average of $40 for a one-time admission.

But there is a big problem.

Many museum-goers, once inside the ark, are refusing to leave.  They told The Adobo Chronicles that they believe another big flood is coming and that the only way they can be spared from this Armageddon is to stay inside the ark. They said that global warming is reponsible for this impending deluge.

Filipino Designers Frown At President Duterte’s Fashion Style

Two men in a barong tagalog: President Duterte, left, and Prime Minister Trudeau, right

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The barong tagalog is the Filipino equivalent of the black tie or tuxedo — the male formal attire that comes with strict rules on how to wear it.

It is no secret that Filipino designers frown at President Rodrigo Duterte’s rogue style of wearing the barong which might just give birth to a new, unconventional fashion sense.

When wearing the barong, the rules are clear: button up all the way to the collar, cuffs neatly pressed against each other and secured by  metal or bejewelled links, well-pressed black or dark plants, plain black socks and shiny black shoes — exactly the way Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wore his during the most recent Asia Pacific Economic (APEC) Summit meeting in Manila.

But who dares dictate how Duterte should wear his barong? His preference is unbuttoned up to three levels down the collar, rolled up sleeves (ready to go to work), blue denim pants and brown shoes.

Former President NoyNoy Aquino had his own fashion style — bright yellow t-shirts or yellow ribbon pinned to his suit or barong.  Nobody complained.

So why would anyone complain about Duterte’s style? After all, he has said in the past that the barong tagalog is worn at funerals, so give the man some slack.

Sarah Palin Wants ‘Hyphen’ Eliminated From Computer Keyboards

imageWASILLA, Alaska (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin today broke her silence over the BlackLivesMatter protests that led to the killing of five police officers in Dallas, Texas this week.

Taking to her Facebook page, Palin says the Black Lives Matter movement is a “farce” and said Americans who hyphenate their racial backgrounds — such as African-Americans and Asian-Americans — “further divide our nation.”

The former vice presidential candidate urged computer manfacturers in the U.S. to eliminate the hyphen from all keyboards as way to unite the country. “If there are no hyphens, then we won’t be seeing any racial divides,” she noted.
