New York, NY (The Adobo Chronicles) – In March of this year, The Adobo Chronicles broke the story about the announcement by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) officially classifying taking selfies as a mental disorder, called ‘Selfitis.’  Since then, there has been much debate in the media about this growing phenomenon on the Internet.

This fall, a new television series will debut on the ABC Network largely based on the story that went viral.  Titled ‘Selfies,’ the new show stars Karen Gillan (‘Dr. Who’) and John Cho (‘Star Trek,’ ‘Harold & Kumar go To White Castle’).  It will airTuesdays at 8pm.

During pre-production, the reporters of The Adobo Chronicles were asked to lead the show’s writing team, but the reporters declined. “We don’t do television,” they said.

Initially, the series  was titled ‘Selfitis’ but ABC Network could not get permission from the APA to use the patented name.

Here’s the new show’s trailer.

KRIS AQUINO ADMITS TO A BROKEN HEART, BUT THE REASON IS NOT WHAT MOST PEOPLE THINK

imageQuezon City, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Philippine TV host and presidential sister Kris Aquino has publicly admitted she still has a broken heart. This, according to an Instagram message she sent to her fans as she took a day off from work yesterday.

Netizens immediately connected Kris’ broken heart to fellow movie actor and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista. It will be recalled that a few months back, Kris was romantically linked with Bautista. Their relationship was cut short with the mayor saying he would want to prioritize his children first.

However, sources close to Aquino told The Adobo Chronicles that Bautista has nothing to do with Kris’ broken heart. The TV host is devastated because the movie The Amazing Spiderman 2 was a huge box office success in the Philippines.

During a Singapore interview many weeks ago with Spiderman lead actor Andrew Garfield, Aquino boasted that no film – local or foreign – will ever surpass the opening-day box office success of My Little Bossings, a slapstick Filipino movie that starred Aquino’s son, Bimby.  As it turned out, Spiderman broke all box office records in the Philippines, grossing over 100 Million pesos in just its first two days of screenings.

“I am so embarrassed and devasted. My heart is broken. I should have just kept my big mouth shut,” Aquino was heard saying as she packed her bag and left work to take a day off.

She also took a break from her Instagram account.

New York, New York – ABC Television Network has announced the hosts of the 18th season of the daytime television talk show ‘The View,’ and only Elisabeth Hasselbeck is staying on.

The announcement came as the show’s producer Barbara Walters prepares to retire on May 16. Part of the farewell week is the appearance on May 15 of all the 11 current and past co-hosts of the show.

“No one can really fill the shoes of Ms. Walters but we believe that we have assembled a powercast of some of the most intelligent, eloquent and knowledgeable women in this country,” said Paul Lee, ABC Network Entertainment Group president.

Hasselbeck will provide some continuity to the popular talk show, the ABC announcement said.

The new co-hosts are former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, Representative Michele Bachmann, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and former California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman.

Ellen DeGeneres was being tapped to be the 6th co-host but she ‘respectfully declined.’
