The New Adobo Chronicles : Separating Fact From Fiction

imageSILICON VALLEY, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – This is no April Fools’ joke. Effective immediately, The Adobo Chronicles will have a new look!

As it reaches its third anniversary, attracting close to 22 Million viewers worldwide, the Chronicles, known for its up-to-date news stories based — mostly — on facts, will now let its followers and readers discern which part of its posts is fact and which is fiction.

All statements and paragraphs that are based on fact — historical and current events — will be written in italics. The rest will remain in regular font, to represent fiction.

The publishers hope that with this new format, viewers will continue to enjoy and be entertained by our stories, while enabling netizens to weigh in and debate on current events happening around the globe.

Here’s to many more years of Adobo!

P.S. We forgot to type this entire story in italics. We apologize for our error.

Another P.S. The Adobo Chronicles is a registered trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office | Registration # 4711386. And THAT is a fact!

CNN THROWS IN THE TOWEL, CONVERTS TO A PARODY NEWS NETWORK

imageAtlanta, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – If you were to believe CNN – and who wouldn’t — the public appearances and TV images you’ve been seeing of President Barack Obama are a “double.”

But don’t panic. CNN’s headline about the Navy SEAL who killed Obama is faux news.  We all know that Robert O’Neill who claimed this week that he had been the one who shot and killed the 9/11 mastermind, killed Osama, not Obama, in Pakistan in 2011.

CNN Workdwide CEO Jeff Zucker was unapologetic. “It was not an error in accuracy,” he said, adding that “it was part of our initial broadcast as the new cable parody news network.”

In the last several years, the pioneer in 24-hour cable news has  been experiencing a sharp decline in ratings and has been unable to fight off the competition from other cable networks like Fox, MSNBC and Al Jazeera.

“We are proud of our record as a trendsetter and pioneer, and we are very excited to have been the first to establish a 24-hour parody news network,” Zucker said.

CNN is preparing to launch its new logo next week which will read “PNN,” or Parody News Network.

ARETHA FRANKLIN SUES DETROIT NEWS FOR TELLING THE TRUTH

Detroit, Michigan –  On April 11, the news satire site The News Nerd  published a faux story about Patti LaBelle punching Aretha Franklin at “an R&B/Soul concert” on March 20. Franklin wasn’t happy with the sacrilegious Internet humor and posted a denial of the scuffle on her Facebook page.

Apparently, that wasn’t enough, as the Detroit News announced yesterday that Franklin is filing a $10 million lawsuit against The News Nerd.

The story becomes interesting every day. Today, lawyers for Aretha Franklin said the diva is suing Detroit News for telling the truth about her displeasure with The News Nerd faux story. “The Detroit newspaper, by reporting on the law suit, basically put a stop to the fake news from further going viral, and this has hurt the singer’s publicity potential ” the lawyers said.

Neither Detroit News nor The News Nerd returned The Adobo Chronicles’ calls requesting for comment.
