CNN Camera Crew Just Happened To Be At Bus Terminal When They Spotted VP Candidate Leni Robredo

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo is known for her simple ways, consciously trying her best to avoid the spotlight and the television cameras.

Many will remember the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President NoyNoy Aquino, when Robredo was caught taking the backway stairs to the Congress Assembly Hall to avoid the red carpet festivities.  That was before she was named LP’s vice presidential candidate.

Well, yesterday, Robredo was caught riding a passenger bus in Cubao, Quezon City, on her way to her hometown to spend the Holy Week holidays.  On camera, she said it was just practical for her to take the bus which only costs P1,000 as opposed to a plane which would be $7,000.

So, the CNN camera crew that interviewed her on the bus just HAPPENED to be at the bus terminal.  What a lucky television crew.

And judging by the CNN video, the bus was already in motion, on its way to Naga City. CNN just HAPPENED to be headed to the same destination as Robredo.

It’s more fun in the Philippines.

Globalization: CNN, World Series To Move Their Headquarters Abroad

imageATLANTA, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – If the world’s a stage, then the spotlight shouldn’t all be focused on America.  Media giant CNN and Baseball’s World Series are both relocating their headquarters abroad.

In a stunning announcement today, CNN says it is laying off all of its personnel in the International Desk based in Atlanta, all in the spirit of globalization.  The 24-hour news cable pioneer has finally realized that news happens in other parts of the world, not just in the U.S.  So it has decided to move its International Desk abroad, specifically London and Hong Kong. This way, reporters will not be gathering the news via their computers inside their cubicles.

Just minutes after the CNN announcement, America’s Major League Baseball (MLB) told The Adobo Chronicles  that it, too, has decided to abandon its headquarters in Jamestown, New York, and move its operations to Beijing, China.

For many years now, MLB has been criticized for calling its championship series, “The World Series,” when, in fact, it was more of a North American Series, involving only teams from the U.S. and Canada.

Part of MLB’s restructuring would be to open the World Series to baseball teams from all over the world so that it can be true to the name given to the championship game.

Will the Miss Universe Organization now consider moving its headquarters to the International Space Station or Mars?

Adobo Chronicles Hosting Free Media Seminar on ‘Terrorism’

imageSILIC0N VALLEY, California (The Adobo Chronicles ) – The Silicon Valley-based Adobo Chronicles is pleased to announced that it is sponsoring and hosting a free seminar for the media on the issue of terrorism coverage. The seminar will be held at the San Jose Convention Center on Monday, January 4, 2016.

The seminar will help media companies develop skills to be able to distinguish between terrorism and peaceful protests.

The Chronicles decided to sponsor the event after major news networks like ABC  and CNN  as well as the Associated Press (AP) reported on the take-over by armed militants of a federal building in Oregon to protest the conviction and jail sentence of an eastern Oregon ranching family for arson.

The media companies, who are quick to label any violent incidents, especially those perpetrated by people with foreign ties, as terrorist activities, have treated the Oregon incident as nothing but a peaceful protest.

Media companies interested in sending their editors and reporters to this free seminar are asked to register at AdoboChronicles.com
