FARMVILLE IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE, SEEKS TO CRUSH CANDY CRUSH

farmvilleSan Francisco, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – FarmVille is poised to make a huge comeback after it lost its number one spot in social network games to Candy Crush.

FarmVille is a farming simulation social network game developed by San Francisco-based Zynga in 2009.  Its gameplay involves various aspects of farm management such as plowing land, planting, growing, and harvesting crops, harvesting trees and raising livestock.

Acknowledging that just like traditional agriculture, FarmVille has become antiquated, Zynga said it was time for the popular game to keep up with modern technology, advanced business practices and raging environmental issues. Zynga said that it will start rolling out FarmVille 3 on June 1.

Asked by The Adobo Chronicles what is new with FarmVille 3, a spokesperson for Zynga said that instead of using outdated farm tools and methods, the all-new FarmVille will utilize tractors, generators, high-tech silos, chemical fertilizers, GMOs, greenhouses, computerized irrigation systems, video surveillance systems to watch over livestock, among other things.

“We don’t want to give away everything,” the spokesperson said, “our customers should just check it out for themselves.”

Watch out Candy Crush. FarmVille is out to get you!

San Francisco, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – With almost 700 Million users worldwide, Twitter is fast  approaching maximum capacity and has just announced new rules for its popular instant messaging network.

Twitter users will now be limited to 139 charcters per tweet, down from 140 characters, according to CEO Dick Costolo. “We understand this may upset our loyal account holders, but we are left with no choice but to try to explore all avenues to prevent our network from an overload,” he told reporters at a press conference held at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco.

Costolo explained that reducing the chatacter limit will save the company 700 million characters per tweet, enough to prevent what could be a devastating network computer crash.

Twitter account holders will soon receive an email announcing the change, along with some suggestions on how to best deal with the new character reduction policy. Suggestions include using single instead of double exclamation points (!!) and question marks (??) in tweets, or eliminating the period (.) from the words Mr and Mrs

Costolo is confident that it will not take long before account holders will get used to the new character limit. “As soon as we complete expansion work on our network capacity, we will restore the 140 chatacter limit,” he said.
