Obama Criticized For Dancing The Tango, Opponents Say He Should Have Chosen Square Dance

imageWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Critics have condemned U.S. President Barack Obama for dancing the tango during a state dinner held in his honor while visiting Argentina, saying it was very insensitive of him and Michelle to do it in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium.

“How can the leader of the most powerful nation on earth  be so callous especially when he was not even in his home country,” the critics said.

Asked by The Adobo Chronicles what President and Mrs. Obama should have done, the critics said, “they should have chosen to do it the American way — the square dance, or at the very least, the hip hop dance.”

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t!

CNN Camera Crew Just Happened To Be At Bus Terminal When They Spotted VP Candidate Leni Robredo

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo is known for her simple ways, consciously trying her best to avoid the spotlight and the television cameras.

Many will remember the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President NoyNoy Aquino, when Robredo was caught taking the backway stairs to the Congress Assembly Hall to avoid the red carpet festivities.  That was before she was named LP’s vice presidential candidate.

Well, yesterday, Robredo was caught riding a passenger bus in Cubao, Quezon City, on her way to her hometown to spend the Holy Week holidays.  On camera, she said it was just practical for her to take the bus which only costs P1,000 as opposed to a plane which would be $7,000.

So, the CNN camera crew that interviewed her on the bus just HAPPENED to be at the bus terminal.  What a lucky television crew.

And judging by the CNN video, the bus was already in motion, on its way to Naga City. CNN just HAPPENED to be headed to the same destination as Robredo.

It’s more fun in the Philippines.

Metro Manila Shares Rare Honor With Los Angeles

Los, Angeles, not Metro Manila
Los Angeles, not Metro Manila

LOS ANGELES, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Despite being in a third-world country, Metro Manila in the Philippines shares a rare honor with Los Angeles.

The metropolitan area in Southern California has earned the distinction of having the worst traffic in all of the United States.

Metro Manila has the same distinction not only in the Philippines but throughout the world, which makes such distinction more prized than that of L.A.

Los Angelinos are committed to surpass Manila’s record.  A grassroots movement has been established by L.A. motorists to make traffic even worse that it already is — with the goal of beating Metro Manila’s traffic record.

But the Filipinos are committed to hang on to their title for years to come.  So good luck, L.A.!
