Emirates To Allow Computer Desktops On Board Its Passenger Planes — For A Price.

IMG_9985DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The United States has announced a ban on all electronics larger than a standard smartphone on board direct flights out of eight countries across the middle East.

Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest international airport, has begun implementing the ban which also covers all electronics sold at Dubai Duty Free, Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths told local radio earlier this week.

Governnment-owned Emirates operates 18 flights daily to the United States out of Dubai.

But Emirates has set in a place a viable option for passengers who have to use their computers during flight.

Since the U.S. ban only covers laptops and tablets, passengers can bring a desktop computer on board, but with additional cost.

In order to be able to bring a desktop into the cabin, passengers must purchase two full-priced seats, one for themselves and the other to allow for space to set up their desktop.

Up to four desktop pieces are allowed on board: a CPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

The new option is available in the main cabin.  The option will not cost extra for First Class passengers.

Donald Trump Asks Twitter To Double Character Limit

IMG_9708WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – If there is one thing Donald Trump isn’t willing to give up even as president, it is his Twitter account.  He continues to use Twitter to post cryptic messages and to attack those who criticize him — 140 characters at a time.

Today, Trump formally asked Twitter to increase the character limit to 280.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told The Adobo Chronicles that 140 characters is just not sufficient for the president when sending messages on social media. “Everyone knows he likes to talk, so a 100% increase in the character limit for tweets would be very helpful,” Spicer said.

It wasn’t clear whether Trump’s request was exlusively for the Office of the President or if it would be apply to all Twitter users.

The Twitter headquarters in San Francisco has yet to respond to Trump’s request.

iPhone Sales Plummet, Thanks To The Republicans

CUPERTINO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – In its most recent quarterly report, Apple said it sold 231 million iPhones in the past 12 months. That’s almost 20 million power month or 667,000 per day.

Alas, in just the last 24 hours, iPhone sales dropped by almost 80 percent, mostly in the American market.

Thanks to the Republicans who on Monday night released a 123-page bill to repeal Obamacare. Analysts have said that the new plan will cost Americans more, cost taxpayers more, provide less coverage, and force millions to lose their coverage.

But hope is not lost.

Republic Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the powerful chairman of the House Oversight committee told the “Today” show yesterday morning that all Americans need to do is to stop buying iPhones and instead invest their money in their own healthcare.

But as one door closes, another opens.

eBay told The Adobo Chronicles that online business through their portal increased by 50 percent, mostly due to Americans selling their used iPhones so that they can pay for their healthcare.

All’s well that ends well.
