McDonald’s Reacts To Study On Fecal Contamination Of Its Touchscreen Ordering Kiosks

6FE1D3B0-6AC7-406B-BD98-56A83B4ABE49CHICAGO, Illinois (The Adobo Chronicles, Chicago Bureau) – Touchscreens installed at McDonald’s branches in Britain have tested positive for fecal matter, a journalistic investigation has revealed.

Samples were taken by experts from machines at eight restaurants, including six in London and two in Birmingham.

Customers use the touchscreens to choose and pay for their food and then they pick up their order at the counter.

Paul Matawele, senior lecturer in microbiology at London Metropolitan University, which carried out the study in conjunction with Metro.co.uk, said he was surprised at how much gut and faecal bacteria were on the machines, concluding that many people did not wash their hands before they used them.

Reacting to the damaging report, McDonald’s has ordered all its franchises with touchscreen machines to immediately install water faucets next to the ordering kiosks. In addition, notices will be posted on the machines asking customers to wash their hands before ordering.

Swift action by the fast-food giant.

Adobo Chronicles Fact Check: Leni Robredo’s Viral Fake Photo

80B4BED9-DA91-454B-946D-402F8DBF75D0MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A photo of Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo receiving a gift painting of herself from a cadet has gone viral on social media. The painting shows an unimpressive and not-so-complimentary face of the VP.

In fairness to the painter-cadet, The Adobo Chronicles conducted an investigation and expert analysis of the said photo. Here are our findings:

  • We found what seems to be an unaltered version of the viral photo in Robredo’s social media account and we compared the two photos
  • We noticed that the two photos didn’t show the same cadet
  • The uniforms worn by the cadets in the photos were starkly different. Come on, look that oversized cader cap in the viral photo
  • Robredo wasn’t wearing the same dress in the two photos
  • In the viral photo, there is an electric wire hanging on the wall leading up to the room behind Robredo and the cadet
  • The viral photo featured several photobombers whereas none were seen in Robredo’s official photo
  • As for the gift painting, we could not confirm the authenticity of either the one in the viral photo or the one in the official photo. (Hey, we’re not perfect. We’ll leave the fact-checking on the paintings to Rappler and Vera Files)

Leni Robredo Wants To Put An End To U.P. Diliman’s Annual Oblation (Naked) Run

67ADB0BF-EDF1-41AC-8B33-341E0EEC1D42QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo seems to have some serious beef with anonymity. Just recently, she called for legal sanctions against anonymous social media accounts that are, in her words, spreading fake news.

Now, Robredo wants to put an end to the Oblation Run at the University of the Philippines’ Diliman campus.

The run is an annual event organized by the university’s Alpha Phi Omega fraternity. Participants run around the campus naked to protest various political and social issues. The runners, however, remain anonymous by wearing face and head masks.

“Just like the anonymous accounts on social media, the runners hide their identity while being open about issues they are fighting for. It’s just not fair,” Robredo, herself a U.P. Diliman graduate, told The Adobo Chronicles.

Robredo added:

”I fully support freedom of speech, but I also believe that people must be man or woman enough to own up to their speech.”

Words of wisdom from the fake VP.
