Rappler Accuses Duterte Of Operating A Panda Ring

33440478-0BAC-49A8-BCC3-0DE7952817CCMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In one, hard-hitting analysis by a certain JC Punongbayan, Rappler accused Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte of establishing a Panda Ring — you know, pandas —  those lovable, furry, black and white animals found only  in China (and some lucky zoos).

Punongbayan was commenting on the 29 agreements signed by Duterte and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the latter’s state visit to the Philippines. He called the Philippine President’s move “excessive.”

But let’s think positive.

This could mean that the Manila and other zoos across the country will soon be hosts to Chinese pandas.

Online News Source Rappler Shuts Down, Resurrects As A Stockbroker

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – CEO Maria Ressa has finally given up on dealing with what she calls a “toxic sludge” on Facebook which has severely impacted the operations and credibility of her start-up online news source.

In an interview on CNN, Ressa revealed that the (Duterte) government has reclassified Rappler from a media organization to a dealer in securities (stockbroker).

It couldn’t be fake news, coming from Ressa herself.

Well, at least Rappler stays in business.  But first things first.  It must pay the back taxes the government says it owes as a stockbroker.

No worries, you will not miss any news.  You still can get it from Facebook, the toxic sludge.

395570C7-CDC6-46F7-921F-FDBF01FB0BACMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Last week, The Adobo Chronicles reported that the long-running teleserye ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ is finally coming to an end this December.

Well, ABS-CBN is not dragging its feet in finding a replacement for the series that stars Coco Martin.  In fact, it has found its next ‘super’ teleserye.

Produced by Kris Aquino, the new TV show is based on real-life events — the legal battles involving the Queen of All Media, her former business partner Nicko Falcis and his lawyer brother Jesus.

Aquino recently filed criminal charges against Nicko for alleged theft and cyber libel charges against Jesus.

The new teleserye is titlted ‘Kris Aquino’s Ang Hukuman.’  It premieres in mid-December on ABS-CBN.
