INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (The Adobo Chronicles) – Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), a.k.a. Anti-Gay Legislation, has many unintended consequences. But a music concert?

That’s right, openly-gay Clay Aiken and openly-Mormon David Archuleta have signed a contract to stage a joint concert to be held over the Memorial Day weekend in Indianapolis.

Many of course will remember the duo as both runners-up in the reality show ‘American Idol.’  They are now recording artists and have their respective legions of fans and followers, on and off the music circle.

Aiken is just now just recovering from his unsuccessful attempt to represent North Carolina in the U.S. Congress. Archuleta is back on track after his two-year missionary stint with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile.

Aiken is against Indiana’s RFRA while Archuleta supports it, so that makes this dream concert the biggest deal yet in Indiana since Michael Jackson.

See Archuleta’s controversial tweets here.

Music fans are not going to boycott the concert because of one or the other singer. Both camps have vowed to support their respective idols. And that makes this concert a win-win situation. Even Indiana Governor Mike Pence is attending.

As of midnight last night, the concert, to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway which has a seating capacity of more than a quarter million, has sold out!

The first 10,000 fans to arrive on concert night will be treated to free pizza from Indianapolis’ Memories Pizza.

MILEY CYRUS: ‘SENATOR TOM COTTON AND I ARE NOT DATING!’

HOLLYWOOD, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Celebrity romances are always a favorite topic on social media and gossip tabloids. In most cases, news media are also in on them.

Last month, Philippine President Aquino was reported to be dating newly-crowned Miss Philippines Universe Pia Wurtzbach after the couple was seen having dinner — in the company of many other friends. Neither the bachelor president nor the beauty queen confirmed the dating status.

Now, singer Miley Cyrus is rumored to be dating Senator Tom Cotton, the same Tom Cotton who authored the  open letter signed by some 47 Republican senators to Iran, undermining the Obama administration’s nuclear negotiations with that country.

The Arkansas senator once again made headlines this week when he said the gay community needs to get a perspective, given that in Iran, one can get executed for being gay.

The rumors started when Cyrus posted Cotton’s phone number on her Twitter account asking her fans to call the senator to express why freedom is “important to us & our country.”

In a phone conversation with The Adobo Chronicles, Cyrus unequivocally denied that she and Cotton were dating. “Just because I have his phone number doesn’t mean we’re seeng each other,” Cyrus said.  She added: “Besides, I don’t date guys who wear purple shirts with a red tie.”

So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth!

But you can still call Senator Cotton at (202) 224-2353 to express your outrage over his gay comment.

STRAIGHT COUPLE DENIED WEDDING SERVICES BY INDIANA GAY CAKE AND FLOWER BUSINESS

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (The Adobo Chronicles) – A heterosexual Indiana couple chose to get married on Friday, April 3. Little did they know that the date they chose would fall on Good Friday this year.

It’s a time when the Christian church is in mourning. It is the day that Jesus Christ died on the Cross. It is also a time when church altars are stripped bare, except for a crucifix draped in purple-colored fabric.

The bride and groom, the future Mr. and Mrs.  Hoosier, chose bright red as the theme color for their entourage and ceremony. The story gets even weirder.

Just days after Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed legislation giving local businesses the license to deny services to gay men and women if it is in keeping with their religious belief, the Hoosiers lost their wedding florist and cake maker, and it is too late to find a replacement.

Apparently, the Indy Cakes and Flowers is owned and managed by a gay couple. In protest of the new anti-gay law, the couple decided to refuse services to the Hoosiers.

“It is our religious belief that it is morally wrong to treat gay men and women differently as one would treat heterosexuals,” the gay couple said, “so it is our right under the new law to deny services to the Hoosiers. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but they can go complain to the governor’s office.

The business owners added that with same-sex marriage now legal in many states, they have enough business to keep them going.
