HONOLULU, Hawaii (The Adobo Chronicles, Honolulu Bureau) – There is a growing movement among supporters of President Donald Trump to boycott the Paradise islands of Hawaii.

The movement, represented online by the trending  hashtag “#BoycottHawaii,” came just days after a Hawaii federal judge in Hawaii issued a sweeping freeze of President Trump’s new executive order hours before it would have temporarily barred the issuance of new visas to citizens of six Muslim-majority countries and suspended the admission of new refugees.

In a 43-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Derrick K. Watson ruled that Trump’s  order was meant to discriminate against Muslims.

But instead of being happy about the boycott movement, Trump criticized his own supporters saying that what they are doing is a “huge mistake.”

“Obviously, these supporters have never been to Hawaii, especially on the island of Oahu.  Otherwise, they would have known that I have a Trump International Hotel just a stone’s throw away from Waikiki Beach,” the president lamented.

“The boycott movement is hurting my business,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, upon learning of the the #BoycottHawaii movement, Native Hawaiians and residents of the islands gave a huge sigh of relief.  Their response? “Mahalo (thank you) for not contributing to polluting the natural beauty of our islands and the Aloha spirit of our people. No offense to us!”

Here’s What Senator De Lima Wanted To Write About Lascañas And Matobato

CAMP CRAME, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles,  Quezon City Bureau) – Only in the Philippines can a criminally-charged and incarcerated senator continue to use official stationery to criticize political opponents and enjoy media attention on a daily basis.

Today, Senator Leila De Lima released yet another handwritten note, this time urging the Filipino people to listen to what self-confessed murderers had said in their testimonies before the Senate.

Edgard Matobato and retired police officer Arthur Lascañas had both testified at Senate hearings about the alleged Davao Death Squad (DDS) during the time that President Rodrigo Duterte was city mayor.  Both men had admitted to taking part in the DDS.  For Lascañas, he denied the existence of the DDS in his first testimony, but later recanted his sworn statement in a second hearing last week.

It appears, however, that De Lima had written a different version of her letter published in the news media.  What was published was a revised version upon the urging of her legal counsel.

In the first version, a photocopy of which was obtained by The Adobo Chronicles, the senator called Matobato and Lascañas “murderers, liars and perjurers.”  She also urged her supporters to listen to her “lying colleagues in the Senate,” although she didn’t mention any senators by name.

VP Leni Robredo’s Amazing Support For Senator Leila De Lima

img_9365MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Embattled Senator Leila De Lima may be at odds with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, but she has 101% support from the Vice President.

As of press time, De Lima is holed up in her Senate office, waiting for the warrant of arrest to be served in connection with one of the drug trafficking cases filed against her.

Our Adobo Chronicles’ star photographer chanced upon Robredo waiting at the gates of the New Bilibid Prisons (see photo) where the senator is expected to join her former colleagues and casual acquaintances.

In the meantime, VP Leni Robredo sent her a sweet tweet early this morning, showing her unequivocal support for De Lima:
