Miss Venezuela Banned From Entering U.S.

IMG_5247.PNGWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Donald Trump used to own the Miss Universe Organization which sponsors the annual Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.

But now that he’s president, Trump wants nothing to do with the next Miss Universe — if it happens to be Miss Venezuela.

Trump’s new travel ban covers 8 countries, including Venezuela.

The Miss Universe Organization is headquartered in New York, and the winning beauty is provided an apartment in the Big Apple throughout her reign.

Unless it is Miss Venezuela.

Venezuela has accumulated more Big Four international pageant titles than any other country, including seven Miss Universe winners, six Miss World winners, seven Miss International winners and two Miss Earth winners.

BREAKING: Filipinos Banned From Traveling To U.S.

IMG_5239.PNGWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Filipinos were shocked today upon hearing that the Philippines has been included in President Donald Trump’s new, expanded travel ban.

The U.S. State Department, however, clarified that the ban only applies to Filipinos who are not able to secure a visa to visit the U.S.

“It’s not really a change in policy,” a spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles.

Whew!

All’s well that ends well.

Finally, A Sensible Solution To Metro Manila’s Nightmarish Traffic

IMG_5234.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Imagine yourself in a jeepney during commute hours from Fairview in Quezon City going to Taft Ave. in Manila, or vice versa.  What are you going to do during those nightmarish hours, especially when your cellphone is registering “low batt.”

The traffic problem in Metro Manila seems hopeless as it has been for many decades, with no solution on hand.

Until now.

Today, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced what it called the most sensible solution thus far to the traffic problem.

In a memorandum addressed to all drivers and operators of jeepneys plying the Quezon City to Manila route, MMDA is now requiring them to install karaoke machines in their vehicles.

“If we can’t solve the traffic situation, we can at least make the daily commute more entertaining for the commuters, by providing the most popular form of entertainment for Pinoys — karaoke singing,” MMDA said.

So next time to hop on a jeepney, make sure you’re prepared to belt out your favorite karaoke song — except Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” which has been banned by the Philippine government years ago because it was considered the deadliest karaoke song.
