ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – This year and in years past, many have criticized the chosen national costume of the Philippines’ representatives to the Miss Universe Pageant.
Well, it’s not going to happen again.
Binibining Pilipinas organizers have assured the public that henceforth, the national costume of Miss Philippines-Universe will “reflect our true culture and identity.”
For next next year’s Miss Philippines-Universe, the organizers have chosen an ethnic attire representative of the Gaddang ethnic group of Northern Philippines.
The chosen national costume was unveiled yesterday in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao with no less than Leni Robredo as the model.
Do we have a winner national costume for next year’s Miss Universe Pageant?
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Although the issues raised at a recent protest rally in Mendiola were varied — from Martial Law to U.S. Imperialism — the venerable ABS-CBN focused on a Japanese national which the news network claimed was protesting against extra-judicial killings under the Duterte government.
The man was photographed mimicking a dead body and writing a chalk message in Japanese.
But lo and behold, the Japanese national is actually an avid supporter of Duterte.
What he wrote translates into “I love Tatay Digong!”
Sometimes, being multi-lingual is a plus for journalists and news photographers. It prevents embarrassment.

But it was on the menu during the welcome gala dinner attended by world leaders attending the ASEAN Summit in Manila. So Trump and Trudeau were famished after the gala dinner.
But no worries, Trump ordered his security detail to go fetch him some McDonald’s burger and fries, while Trudeau ventured into one of Manila’s Jollibee fastfood restaurants to pick up some chicken joy.
