Everybody loves bacon. This crispy, salty and aromatic breakfast fare transcends politics. Republicans and Democrats alike love it. Even Christian churches serve it with their pancake breakfasts. Unless you’re a vegetarian or belong to a religion or culture that bans pork, you know you’ll do anything to have bacon on your plate anytime.
Imagine a world without bacon. Of course you can’t.
Today, the American Bacon Manufacturers Association (ABMA) announced that its members have agreed to immediately stop producing and marketing bacon in the U.S. until their one demand is met: for President Donald Trump to step down.
No protests, no filibusters, no lawsuits, no foreign trade sanctions, not even the threat of nuclear war can stop the Donald and his crazy presidency.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – We all know the peso remains weak compared to the U.S. dollar. The exchange rate has been hovering over the P49 to P50 range to the dollar. Great if you have dollars. Not so if you have pesos.
But here’s good news for those intending to exchange their U.S. dollars for Philippine pesos.
Rappler — yes the same Rappler that brings you ‘legitimate’ news — is offering a highest exchange rate of record: P55 to the dollar!
How is this possible?

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Because of their political persuasion starkly in contrast to that of President Donald Trump, American-owned construction companies have refused to enter into agreements with The White House to build the great wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
This has caused an unnecessary delay in the implementation of Trump’s order to immediately begin the massive construction project.
To solve the impasse, Trump has instructed his Labor as well as Homeland Security secretaries to travel to Berlin this weekend to recruit Germans to help build the border wall.
Priority for the recruitment will be given to former East or West Germans who helped build the Berlin Wall, or their descendants.
A lucrative compensation awaits the Germans, including an expedited path to U.S. citizenship.
