Malacanang: President Duterte Wasn’t Using A Cane

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Malacanang has finally broken its silence amid all the rumors and speculation arising from President Rodrigo Duterte’s health status and the unbearable pain he experienced while in Japan to attend the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

Photos of Duterte  using a cane dominated mainstream as well as social media, prompting critics to demand that the Palace release a medical bulletin on the President.

Today, the Presidential Communications Coordinating Office (PCOO) released an unedited photo of Duterte while in Japan showing the alleged cane he was using to help him walk.

Lo and behold,  it wasn’t a cane.  It was a selfie stick!

Now we can all put the rumors and speculation to rest!

Congratulations, PCOO.  You are finally doing your job.

By 2025, 97% Of The World’s Population Will Be Out Of A Job

BEIJING, China (The Adobo Chronicles, Hong Kong Bureau) – Call it evolution, but by 2025, 97% of the world’s population will be out of a job, according to Huawei, China’s leading electronics company.

Not only that, all companies will abandon their ground operations to use the cloud which may be good news for cities around the globe that are currently dealing with overcrowding and traffic problems.

Already, developed countries are moving towards the abolition of all educational institutions since there will be no use for human intelligence.

Ah, progress!

Filipino, Filipina? Senator Risa Hontiveros Proposes Something More Gender-Neutral: Filipinix

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – They’re called Americans, Germans, Italians, Canadians, Australians — regardeless of their gender.  But for Philippine citizens, they are referred to according to their gender: Filipino for males and Filipina for females.

Gender equality advocate Senator Risa Hontiveros wants to change that.

Today, she filed a Senate bill that would legislate a single term for Filipinos or Filipinas — Filipinix.

”It will just be more convenient for everybody to use a gender-neutral term when addressing Philippine citizens without having to offend either gender.  It will also make communication simpler,” she told The Adobo Chronicles.

Hontiveros, who recently fought for the passage of a SOGIE (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression )  Equality bill, added that “Filipinix” will also be inclusive of transgender people who self-identify as men or women.

The Opposition Senator got the idea from a similar practice or initiative in the United States in which a gender-neutral neologism — Latinx — is sometimes used instead of Latino or Latina to refer to people of Latin American cultural or racial identity.
