NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Both Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders recently sat down with the editorial board of the Daily News to answer questions on a wide range of issues.

Both candidates, who consider New York their home state, were asked if they ever rode the subway and how it is done.

Here are the transcripts from the interviews:

Sanders

Daily News: I know you’ve got to go in a second. When was the last time you rode the subway? Are you gonna campaign in the subway?

Sanders: Actually we rode the subway, Mike, when we were here? About a year ago? But I know how to ride the subways. I’ve been on them once or twice.

Daily News: Do you really? Do you really? How do you ride the subway today?

Sanders: What do you mean, “How do you ride the subway?”

Daily News: How do you get on the subway today?

Sanders: You get a token and you get in.

Daily News: Wrong.

Sanders: You jump over the turnstile.

Daily News: We would like our photographer to be there when you jump over the turnstile.

Clinton

Daily News: Same questions

Clinton: First, the Secret Service makes a sweep of the subway station and train I’m going to be in. Then they escort me to a working elevator. We proceed directly to the station agent gate where the agent has already swung it open. I am then led to the first car of the train which has previously been emptied out of passengers, except for accredited media photographers. And off we go. Easy!

It’s In The Stars: Hillary Clinton And Bongbong Marcos Will Become Presidents

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – When it comes to celebrity deaths, it is believed that they always come in three’s.  But as far as becoming president, it comes in two’s.

With that said, we are now predicting that Hillary Clinton will become the next president of the United States, and while Bongbong Marcos, the son of the late Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos, is a candidate for vice president, he will eventually become president of his country.

It’s in the stars.  We only have to look back at history.

George W. Bush (the 43rd president) is the son of George Bush (the 41st president).

John Quincy Adams (the 6th president) was the son of John Adams (the 2nd president).

Benjamin Harrison (the 23rd president) was the grandson of William Henry Harrison (the 9th president).

James Madison (the 4th president) and Zachary Taylor (the 12th president) were second cousins.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (the 32nd president) was a fifth cousin of Theodore Roosevelt (the 26th president).

Ergo, Hillary, the wife of  Bill Clinton (the 42nd president), will win in this year’s elections and become the 45th president).

In the Philippines, incumbent President NoyNoy Aquino is the son of former President Cory Aquino.

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the daughter of former President Diosdado Macapagal.

In as far as this year’s Philippine presidential elections are concerned, while Senator Grace Poe has consistently topped national polls, her rival, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, could get elected.  He is the son for former Senator Gerry Roxas who is the only son of Manuel Roxas, the first president of the Third Philippine Republic.

If it’s in the stars, you can bet on it!

Hillary Clinton Endorses Grace Poe, And Vice Versa

CHAPPAQUA, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – International Women’s Day was quite a day for Philippine Senator Grace Poe. On this very day, the Supreme Court ruled, by a 9-6 vote in her favor, paving the way for the foundling and former dual citizen to run for president.  The high court threw out the disqualification case against her by respondents who claimed she was not a natural-born citizen and lacked the residency requirement to run for the country’s highest office.

Just hours after she learned of the court decision, Poe received an overseas call from Hillary Clinton, former U.S. First Lady, Secretary of State and now candidate for U.S. president.,

During that 3 a.m. call, Clinton informed Poe that she was endorsing her candidacy for Philippine president and that she was looking forward to meeting her in person when both of them have become presidents of their respective countries. “I would love to be your roommate during the world leader summits that we will be both attending,” Clinton told Poe.

Today, Poe returned the favor and officially declared that she was endorsing Clinton not only for the Democratic nomination but for the presidency.

Poe said she is looking forward to be in the company of many women world leaders, adding that it was about time that women were taken more seriously to be heads of state.

If elected, Clinton will be the first female U.S. president, while Poe will be the Philippines’ third, following in the footsteps of Cory Aquino and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
