New Internet Domain Names Exclusive To The Philippines

IMG_9591SILICON VALLEY, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – There is no shame in showing your true colors, and that’s specifically true for the Philippines where netizens proudly proclaim their political leanings, be it pro-Duterte, pro-Liberal Party, pro-Yellow and pro-whatever. In fact, this has resulted in the escalating cyber war between and among die-hards.

So to enhance this unique Philippine phenomenon, the International Association of Domain Name Registrars (IADNR) has approved new Internet domain names for exclusive use within the Philippines.  The approval came at an Internet Summit Meeting held today at the San Jose Convention Center.

In addition to existing domain name extensions like dot com, dot net, dot PH, dot UK, dot photo, IADNR has released the following new extensions for immediate use:

dot DU30

dot D5

dot 3llanes

dot Laylayan

Can you guess which followers of political personalities will be using each of these new domain extensions?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipino-Australian Jim Paredes, Duterte critic and former member of the music group Apo Hiking Society, is missing!

After that viral video tape showing him berating a group of pro-Duterte youth at the EDSA 31 commeration, he hasn’t been seen around.  There are no indications that he has returned to Australia.

But finally, Paredes has given a clue on his whereabouts.

In a tweet posted several days ago, Paredes said:

But his Twitter message generated more questions than answers.  Both his fans and critics still have no clue where he is.

Speculations range from Paredes having joined the New People’s Army or Abu Sayyaf to being in an anti-Duterte rally where only 40 people were in attendance.  Others are saying that he could be vacationing in Brazil’s Amazon forest, where as a Filipino citizen, he doesn’t need a visa to visit.

Or maybe, he has decided to be a monk?

Philippine President Duterte Takes A Leave Of Absence

img_9471DAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao Bureau) – There’s maternity leave, and paternity leave.  In the Philippines, there is also a lolo leave (grandfather leave.)

Today, President Duterte took a leave of absence, his first since assuming office last July, to visit his new-born grandson.

Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday, according to a photo posted by her husband, lawyer Mans Carpio, on Instagram.
Stonefish, the couple’s third child, was born at 12:56 p.m. Duterte was pregnant with triplets but lost two to miscarriage.

The proud lolo was seen all smiles as he visited the nursery.

It wasn’t clear whether the presidents’ leave of absence was with or without pay.

Knowing the president though, that lolo leave probably lasted just a couple of hours and he is now back at work.

Congratulations to the proud grandpa!
