Profanity Ordinance: President Duterte Is Now Banned From Visiting Baguio City

F12C0A2C-0C16-4070-B24D-A2B48087D6D5BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – Last week, we reported that President Rodrigo Duterte is closing down Baguio City for six months for rehabilitation, following the success  a similar order he issued for Boracay.

Well, now the Summer Capital of the Philippines is fighting back!

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan has just signed an ordinance penalizing profanity in the city.

Authored by Councilor Lilia Fariñas, the “Anti-Profanity Ban” prohibits swearing, cussing, and other forms of profanity in selected institutions in the city.

The ordinance seeks to ban “all manner of cursing, cussing, expressing insults, whether directly or indirectly to anyone or anybody, or using profane and foul language, as a means of expression, or as a manifestation of anger, surprise, disgust or any other form of extreme emotion that yields to such expressions of profanity.”

The measure covers schools, computer shops, arcades, and other business establishments frequented by children, high school, and college students in the city.

We all know what this means.

It means that the cussing Duterte is banned from visiting Baguio.  So it looks like before he could close down the city, the city closed its doors on Duterte.

Polls Asia Survey: VP Leni Robredo’s Popularity Sinks Even Among Her Loyalists

E03C4ADF-19EB-4ED7-B922-6720215C23EE.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo’s popularity rating has sanked to “very poor” in a survey conducted by a new, emerging survey firm, Polls Asia.

The poll results show that Robredo’s net popularity rating is now at 13%, the lowest ever for any elected official in the Philippines.  The survey was conducted in the last 24 hours.  It came just after Robredo said that the deported Australian nun, Sister Patricia Fox, “was more Filipinos than many of us.” FAB61332-08B0-4680-BA61-B9710240B812

(In comparison, Robredo’s net rating in the latest SWS Survey was +39% which was still considered “good.”)

Robredo’s statement insulted even her most ardent supporters and those who blindly voted for her during the last elections.

Political analysts said that it is doubtful if Robredo could ever recover from this unpopularity rating.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In a stunning public admission that could all but render Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest moot and academic, Leni Robredo admitted she’s not 100% Filipino.

The admission basically disqualifies her to run for or occupy the position of Vice President.

In commenting about the recent deportation of Sister Patricia Fox, Robredo said that the Australian nun is “more Filipino than many of us,” a statement that puts in question her full Filipino citizenship and that of her own supporters who voted for her in the last elections.
