MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A large group of Filipino lesbians is set to stage a rally in front of Malacañang Palace this weekend to protest the Duterte Administration’s crackdown on street loitering.
The group decided on this mass protest after hearing of increasing police action against tambays (loiterers).
Apparently it was case of ‘lost in translation.’
The lesbians heard it wrong. They thought it was a government crackdown on ‘tomboys,’ a widely-used term to refer to lesbians.
