Leni’s Newest Sideline Career: Commercial Endorser

IMG_0182LONDON, The United Kingdom (The Adobo Chronicles, London Bureau) – Leni Robredo herself said that the only duty of the Vice President is to wait for something to happen to the President. So she has to engage herself in various careers while waiting.

Magazine cover girl. Resource speaker for some shady international human rights groups. Poster girl for public transportation.  And the latest? Commercial endorser!

An unnamed business enterprise based in the United Kingdom has sought the endorsement of Robredo for a unique commercial item: Holy Water from the River Jordan where Jesus Christ was baptized, contained in a 24K-gold, hand painted bottle.

This limited-edition product is being marketed only to Filipino nationals, with guaranteed free delivery.

Photo above shows Robredo, who was also baptized “First Lady” by the commercial venture, receiving a free sample of the product.

Georgina Hernandez, Robredo’s spokesperson, told The Adobo Chronicles that although the photo advertisement was taken in front of the seal of the Vice President of the Philippines, this is 100% a personal —  not an official — endorsement.

Donald Trump Calls TIME Magazine Poll ‘Very Fake’

imageWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – U.S. President Donald Trump has called CNN ‘fake news.’ Now he’s calling a TIME Magazine poll ‘very fake.’

Trump was reacting to an online poll being conducted by TIME, asking its readers to vote for whomever they think should be included in the magazine’s 2017 100 Most Influential People in the world.

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte is No. 1 in the poll and has remained in that spot since the poll first went public.  Duterte is leading with 5% of of the votes.  The next group of celebrities is trailing with 3% of the votes and includes Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis and Canada’s Justin Trudeau.

Trump’s standing is at 2% which he shares with 25 other personalities.

Of course, the narcissistic president is not happy, saying it is unbelievable that the president of a third world country is topping the poll and that he (Trump) is way below in the ratings.

“Don’t believe the poll,” Trump said, “it is faker than fake.  Believe in it only when I become No. 1. There is time.”

The online voting closes at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on April 16.

Adobo Chronicles Confirms New York Times’ Report On Extra-Judicial Killings In The Streets Of Manila

IMG_0017MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In yet another report that seeks to put President Rodigo Duterte and the Philippines in a bad light, The New York Times posted a documentary to show the world that Filipinos are living in fear and grief as a result of alleged extra-judicial killings due to the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

The documentary claims that the “body count rises daily” on the streets of Manila.

The Adobo Chronicles sent its own investigative team of reporters and photographers to confirm what was reported by the Times.

We can now categorically say that the NYT report was mostly true!

As we walked the streets of Manila — from Tondo to Mandaluyong, from Pasay to Makati — we could not believe what we saw: dead bodies piled up everywhere!

We documented every single dead body we encountered and came up with these numbers which seem to match up perfectly with the 7,000 EJKs reported by the news media here and abroad:

  • Ants – 2,800
  • Flies – 1,200
  • Cockroach – 1,500
  • Rats – 500
  • Lizards – 500
  • Could not be identified because of advanced decay – 500

Our investigation only proves that The New York Times is a very reliable source of fair, accurate and balanced reporting.  We urge you to subscribe now!
