Age-related Memory Loss: Filipino Scientists Suggest RAM Brain Implant

IMG_4723.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Computers mimic the human brain. And vice versa.

With this in mind, scientists at the University of the Philippines embarked on a study of age-related memory loss, and today they announced a breakthrough that will solve those “senior moments” once and for all.

The scientists believe that memory loss is the result of the human brain reaching its full capacity.  The older one gets, the more information is stored in the brain, and just like with a computer, when its memory becomes full, it starts to slow down.

The solution, they said, is to implant a chip or computer RAM (Random Access Memory) into the brain. This can add gigs of memory to the slowing human brain.

“It’s just like implanting a pace-maker for the human heart,” the scientists said. “We have both the medical and technological capability to do the brain implants.”

Today’s announcement sent the value of computer chips skyrocketing at the Philippine Stock Exchange, especially those of companies engaged in computer trade with China.

The news also eclipsed the unveiling of Apple’s iPhone X.

U.S., China Simultaneously Unload Aid, Donations To The Philippines At Clark

IMG_2537.JPGCLARK AIRBASE, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In an unusual display of international cooperation, both the United States and China yesterday unloaded their respective government aid and donations to the Philippines at ceremonies held at Clark Airbase in Pampanga.

The Chinese and American planes parked side by side on the tarmac and it was a sight to behold.

China 🇨🇳  turned over P370 million worth of arms and ammunition to President Rodrigo Duterte, along with a P5 million donation for the families of slain soldiers in Marawi City.  This is on top of the P15 million it earlier donated to the Philippine government for the rehabilitation and relief operations in the conflict-torn city of Mindanao.

IMG_2546The United States 🇺🇸 , on the other hand, unloaded its generous donation to the Marawi siege victims — 300 cases of SPAM. (Unknown perhaps to the Donald Trump administration, most of the victims of the Marawi siege practice the Muslim Faith and do not eat pork.)

Duterte expressed the Filipino people’s gratitude to both governments. “Change has indeed come,” he said.

PRIDE MONTH: LGBT Community Struggles With Identity

IMG_2108SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Lesbian. Gay. Bisexual. Transgender. Queer. Questioning. Homo. Gender-bending. Gender-variant. Cross-dresser. Closeted. Out. Two-spirit. Mahu. Bakla. On-the-bus.

In a politically-correct societal atmosphere, not one word is sufficient to describe the diversity of the gay and lesbian community.  Oftentimes, in the struggle for inclusion, the community sometimes ends up being divisive (and divided) and very sensitive to the many labels that describe — or try to describe — it.

So, in the spirit of inclusion, and in celebration of PRIDE month, we propose an all-inclusive acronym to refer to this very diverse community:

LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ.
