MANILA, Philippines – While Filipinos focused their attention on the anti-Marcos burial rally held Friday at the Luneta Park, another group of protesters did their own thing at the University of the Philippines (U.P.) in Diliman, Quezon City.

Members of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity at U.P. ran naked through a student crowd with only their faces covered to protest against the hero’s burial for the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

The Great Oblation Run, also known as “Ritual Dance of the Brave,” is a long-held tradition in the state university that began in 1977. It is held as a way for fraternity members to make known their stand on important national issues.

In addition to protesting the Marcos Burial at Libingan Ng Mga Bayani, they also asked the Duterte administration to stop extrajudicial killings and to end contractual labor.

But instead of rallying the crowd to support their demands, the protestors were criticized for displaying their small penises, as can be seen in a social media post by one very disappointed observer (see photo.)

Imelda Marcos Wants Fidel Castro Buried In Libingan Ng Mga Bayani

Then Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos and daughter Imee with Fidel Castro in 1978

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippines’ former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos wants President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to offer the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB) as final resting place for Cuba’s Fidel Castro.

Castro died yesterday at the age of 90, after ruling Cuba for almost half a century.

For the first time ever, Mrs. Marcos revealed a conversation she had with Castro when she and daughter Imee visited Cuba in 1978.

“Fidel idolized Ferdinand. E. Marcos, and he told me that when the time comes, he would like to be buried alongside his fellow dictator,” Imelda told The Adobo Chronicles.

Ferdinand was buried a few weeks ago in the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani despite strong opposition from Filipino politicians and activists.  The “sneaky” burial of Marcos continues to be met with street protests.

Duterte  had approved Marcos’ burial.  The Supreme Court made it possible by deciding in favor of the Marcoses in a case brought before it.

Before Marcos’ remains were transferred to LNMB, they were encased in a refrigerated glass crypt in a mausoleum in his hometown of Batac, Ilocos Norte

“The family of Fidel might not want the former president buried outside of Cuba, but the Philippines should at least make the offfer as a matter of courtesy and international diplomacy,” Imelda added.

The year 2016 marks 70 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Cuba. (Now you know!)

Brace for more rounds of anti-burial protests if this happens.

Philippines’ VP Leni Robredo Wants To Step Down To Pursue Modeling Career

IMG_7286.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It is no secret that she was hesitant to run for vice president. But being the good citizen and loyal party member that she is, she accepted the challenge of candidacy for the Liberal Party. And she won.

Now, Leni Robredo is having second thoughts about being VP.

She wants to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a fashion and magazine model, and since she assumed the vice presidency, she has made it to the cover of several fashion magazines.

She told The Adobo Chronicles that her VP and cabinet positions are standing in the way of her modeling ambition.

She is expected to announce her decision about possibly abandoning her government positions in the next few weeks, after a scheduled meeting with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Stay tuned.
