Duterte Skips APEC Gala Dinner, Here’s Why

F5E8004B-FF27-439D-AEDC-2008FB719846.jpegDA NANG, Vietnam (The Adobo Chronicles, Da Nang Bureau) –  President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday skipped the welcome and gala dinner hosted by Vietnam for the leaders attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit here.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano instead came to represent the President, accompanied by his wife, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano.

In a post on Facebook, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said Duterte was not able to attend the dinner as he was “attending to urgent ASEAN hosting matters” and “coordinating safe recovery of Vietnamese captives of the Abu Sayyaf.”

Almost immediately, social media was abuzz with speculation and sarcasm on why Duterte skipped the gala dinner.

One netizen in particular asked if Duterte skipped the gala because he didn’t know how to use a spoon and fork. Writer Ninotchka Rosca shared the post/question.

Well, the newly-appointed Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and her very good friend, Asec Mocha Uson, responded:

”The reason Duterte skipped the Gala dinner was not because he didn’t know how to use a spoon and fork.  Rather, the other heads of state didn’t know how to eat with their hands.  So rather than make the APEC leaders uncomfortable, he decided to skip the dinner.

Such a gentleman, this Duterte!

Philippine VP Leni Robredo Declares Martial Law!

C8DE0259-718B-4B24-965C-6167A946C03CMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Very reliable information gathered by the Office of the Vice President  has led Leni Robredo to suspect that a revolutionary government (revgov) is about to be established in the Philippines.

The information is quite distressing for the Vice President because it would mean that she will not only lose her first-in-line status to succeed President Duterte, but it could also lead to the total elimination of the VP position under a Federal form of government.

Well, by the powers vested in her by the Yellow Oligarchs and pro-Liberal Party elements, Robredo today declared Martial Law throughout the country and appointed herself the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The Martial Law proclamation came at noon today, with the Vice President flanked by the Secretary of National Defense and the top brass of the AFP.

Robredo’s surprise move fulfills her campaign promise during the 2016 presidential debate in which she proclaimed, “May the best woman win.”

Spox Harry Roque And Asec Mocha Uson Agree To Tutor Each Other

We all remember newly-appointed Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque saying that going forward,  Asec Mocha Uson will be under his tutelage, especially when it comes to the important role of mainstream media.

Uson sees no problem with being tutored by Roque.  In fact, she also volunteered to tutor Roque on how to properly apply makeup.

The Spox agreed after being shown a photo of himself with Uson and President Duterte on board the plane that took them to Vietnam. The illusion of natural rosy cheeks didn’t quite work out, unfortunately.
