ICC Prosecutor To Investigate Philippine Congress, Supreme Court, Ombudsman And CHR

B89F3777-71A9-4B70-9949-627F0F486466.jpegGENEVA, Switzerland (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The ICC Prosecutor has clarified that the preliminary examination of the complaint filed against President Rodrigo Duterte for alleged crimes against humanity is not — repeat — not an investigation.

Rather, ICC said that it will investigate Philippine Congress, the Supreme Court, the Ombudsman and the Commission on Human Rights for crimes on infutility.

Under the Rome Statute, national jurisdictions have the primary responsibility to investigate and prosecute those responsible for international crimes,” the prosecutor said.

”Our investigation will focus on why these national institutions in the Philippines failed in their duty to respond to allegations against Duterte.”

Transcript (?) Of Phone Conversation Between Loida Nicolas Lewis And Unnamed Individual

868780E5-3E28-458D-BD82-CEE4013F0EB3DAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao Bureau) – A phone conversation gave her away, President Duterte said on Friday referring to Filipino-American businesswoman Loida Nicolas Lewis allegedly conspiring with the International Criminal Court (ICC) to have him prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

In a press briefing at the Matina Enclaves Residences here, Duterte claimed he had prior knowledge of the ICC initiative as early as Tuesday, based on the transcript of a phone conversation between Lewis and an unnamed individual.

While the supposed transcript has not been publicly released, The Adobo Chronicles could only imagine that the unnamed individual was Vice President Leni Robredo, and here is what we think happened in that conversation:

Lewis: Madam Vice President, malapit na!

Robredo: And ano?

Lewis: The complaint filed before the ICC against Duterte is finally moving.

Robredo: Ano yung ICC?

Lewis: International Criminal Court.  It is initiating a preliminary review of the complaint.

Robredo: What’s a preliminary review?

Lewis: It will determine whether the ICC prosecutor will recommend an investigation into the charge of crimes against humanity.

Robredo: Anong ibig sabihin ng crimes against humanity?

Lewis: Basta, if Duterte is convicted, ikaw na ang magiging Presidente ng Pilipinas.

Robredo: Bakit ako?

Lewis: Di ba Vice President ka?

Robredo: Eh paano na si BBM?

Lewis: Do you think he will win his electoral protest against you?

Robredo:

DAVAO CITY,  Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Burea – President Rodrigo Duterte said he wants to “close” popular beach island Boracay if its environmental problems are not resolved in 6 months.

“I will close Boracay. Boracay is a cesspool,” Duterte said on Friday night, February 9, during the Manila Times Business Forum in Davao City.

Duterte said the sewerage problem in the top tourist destination is wreaking havoc on the island’s ecosystem.

But when asked by The Adobo Chronicles why he was so concerned about the deterioration of Boracay, he said that he wants to build a Malacañang for the Visayas in this prime tourist destination.

Eventually, we will have a presidential palace in each of the three islands – Luzon (Manila), Mindanao (Davao) and the Visayas (Boracay).

’Whenever we have visiting heads of state or foreign dignitaries, we will bring them directly to the Malacañang of the Visayas to spare them from the traffic nightmare and pollution  in Manila,’ Duterte said.

’And what better way to host our foreign guests than in one of the most beautiful beaches in the world,’ he added.
