Justin Trudeau Threatens To Stop Filipino Immigration To Canada

AFCD75E3-D2B8-4DBA-8DF0-F55C9A7C287ATORONTO, Canada (The Adobo Chronicles, Toronto Bureau) – Egos are aplenty in American — north and south of the U.S.-Canada border.

In the U.S., Trump is building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and limiting legal immigration to the land of the free, home of the brave.

In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is considering proposing to stop Filipino immigration to his country — all because his ego was hurt.

It all started when Trudeau’s government ordered a review of the Philippines’ purchase of helicopters from Canada.  Trudeau doesn’t want the military equipment to be used against terrorists and local insurgents in the Philippines.  So he thereatened to cancel the deal.

But David stood up against Goliath.

Even before Canada could initiate a review, Philippine President cancelled the deal himself.

Embarrassed, Trudeau says he will now consider closing Canada’s borders to Filipinos.

Currently, it is estimated that over 830,000 Filipinos are living in Canada.

Egocracy?

Canada Will Honor Helicopter Sale To Philippines, Promises To Take Back Trash

AFCD75E3-D2B8-4DBA-8DF0-F55C9A7C287ATORONTO, Canada  (The Adobo Chronicles, Toronto Bureau) – The Canadian government has ordered a review of the purchase of  Bell 412 EPI by the Philippine government amid concerns that it will be used against local insurgents.

In response, the Philippine Department of Defense that it will purchase the combat helicopters elsewhere should Canada cancel the sale.

Upon hearing the Philippine response, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau apologized for his country’s threat and begged President Rodrigo Duterte not to seek to purchase the equipment elsewhere.

D4622E4D-69EF-4F33-B3D8-701BBDA79E89In a show of good faith,  Trudeau promised that Canada will take back  the back the disputed trash it exported to the Philippines years ago under the guise of recyclable plastics. It was a sore thumb in Philippines-Canada relations.

Do we have a deal?

Duterte Special Assistant Bong Go Interested In Being President, Not Senator

1B5A1863-1C40-4EDB-850D-150C52DFCF81MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Special Assistant to the President Secretary Bong Go on Wednesday said President Rodrigo Duterte was only joking that his appearance at the proposed legislative inquiry on the controversial P15.5-billion frigate acquisition project of the Philippine Navy can be his ticket to a Senate seat.

“I would like to publicly state that I am not interested in running for a Senate seat,” Go said in a statement.

Go said Duterte only mentioned the matter “in jest” during the 116th anniversary celebration of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) “in view of my demand to the Senate to conduct a full blown public hearing and get to the bottom of the frigate controversy.”

But in an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, Go clarified that while he wasn’t interested in being a Senator, he’s seriously considering becoming President when Duterte’s term expires in 2022.

”By then, I would have mastered the ins and outs of being President. I’m practically being groomed for the job by Duterte,” he said.

We’d like to suggest a campaign meme for Duterte’s right-hand man:

”Go, Bong!”
