WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles)  – Former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann  has proposed a ban on the sale in the U.S. of the Menorah, a candelabrum used in Jewish worship, especially during the observance of Hanukkah.

She made the proposal as she called for an intensified effort to convert Jews to Christianity.

In the radio program, “Washington Watch,” Bachmann discussed the meaning of the recent intensification of violence in Israel and the West Bank. She cast the violence as a signal of the return of Jesus, which would necessitate mass conversions.

“We recognize the shortness of the hour,” Bachmann said on the program hosted by Tony Perkins, “and that’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can — even among the Jews — share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, He’s coming soon.”

Bachmann added that banning the sale of the Menorah would be a great and meaningful first step in converting Jews to Christianity.  She proposed that American Jews should decorate their homes with a Christmas tree instead.  “If that offends them, then an alternative would be to set up a giant inflatable Santa Claus in their front lawns,” she said.

MARCO RUBIO SHOWS THE STUFF TO BE A GREAT PRESIDENT

MIAMI, Florida (The Adobo Chronicles ) – Florida Senator Marco Rubio is a fast-rising star in the Republican Party. The presidential candidate is expected to eventually capture his party’s nomination — after all the hype and hysteria that put GOPers Donald Trump and Ben Carson on top of the polls subside and voters finally come to their senses.

Slowly but surely, Rubio is showing the kind of stuff he’s made of — youth, intelligence and experience that will take him to the Oval Office.

Yesterday, Rubio fielded questions at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire. One of the questions he was asked was who he would like to “have a beer with” out of anyone in the world who is not a politician.

Rubio said he would like to have a beer with football legend Dan Marino, Russian chess prodigy Gary Kasparov and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

Of course, Rubio’s advisers and campaign staff failed to whisper in his ear that Malala, the famed Pakistani girls’ education activist, is both underage and Muslim. She is also socialist.

Under-age drinking is illegal, Muslims don’t drink alcohol, and Rubio is farthest from being a socialist.

So there.

U.S. CENSUS BUREAU TO RECLASSIFY FILIPINOS FROM ‘ASIAN’ TO ‘PACIFIC ISLANDER’

imageWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – For decades now, Filipinos living in the United States have been lumped with the ‘Asian’ demographic subgroup by the Census Bureau. That is about to change starting with the 2020 population census.

The bureau announced today that it has decided to reclassify Filipinos to ‘Pacific Islander,’ citing several significant reasons:

  1. The Philippines is an island nation that is not connected to the main Asian continent.
  2. The country sits in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, in close proximity to other Pacific Island nations like Fiji, Guam, and the countries of Polynesia.
  3. Its tropical weather is very similar to the rest of the Pacific Island nations.
  4. The Philippines uses the Latin alphabet (ABCDE) , unlike other Asian countries which use logographics  like kanji, hanja and hangul (漢字).
  5. Most important of all, unlike their Asian counterparts in China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam, the Filipinos do not use chopsticks.  They use silverware or eat with their hands.

Filipino communities in places like Daly City, Honolulu and Jersey City immediately praised the decision by the Census Bureau.

So beginning in 2020, Filipinos will identify as P.I. — Pacific Islanders from the Philippine Islands (P.I.)
