MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Yesterday, we announced our choice for the best and worst-dressed at the State of the Nation Address (SONA) red carpet ceremonies held last Monday . We named Senator Nancy Binay the best-dressed and Senator Loren Legarda the worst.

Based on new information we just received, we have revised our choice for best-dressed.  The award now goes to Representative Leni Robredo, widow of the late  Interior and Local Governments Secretary Jesse Robredo.image

We arrived at our new choice after we found out that Robredo sneaked out of the red carpet and used the back stairway to get into the assembly hall. A photographer caught the great escape and the photo has now gone viral on social media.

We understand that the red carpet-shy Robredo has been doing this for three years in a row now, except that this hear, she was caught in the act.

We congratulate Robredo for this honor.

PHILIPPINES: SONA HAS BROUGHT OUT A FEW ROMANTIC COUPLES

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Like we said in a previous report, photos don’t lie, which we have the goods to show for.

Not only did we confirm through these exclusive photos that TESDA Director General Joel Villanueva and presidential sister Kris Aquino seem to be an item, we also can now confirm that Senator Chiz Escudero (newly-married to actress Heart Evangelista) and Representative Leni Robredo, widow of the late Interior and Local Governments Secretary Jesse Robredo, may as well  be.

Among Filipino men, when they clasp their hands in the tradition of a prayer, it had better something serious. Like romance.

And it all happened during President NoyNoy Aquino’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

BICYCLISTS WANT TO [OVER]RULE SAN FRANCISCO

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – They already have their own green-painted lanes in the streets of San Francisco.  Now they also want immunity from traffic enforcement.

A San Francisco bike group unhappy with a crackdown on cyclists who run stop signs is protesting the law by obeying it in critical mass style.

On Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., the bicycle advocacy group, Wigg Party, plans to ride the Wiggle route, a popular San Francisco thoroughfare, in single file and stop at every single stop sign. The goal? To create an inevitable traffic jam for bikers and motorists alike.

It’s bad enough that half the lanes in each direction on the city’s major thoroughfares are already reserved for buses and taxis, but now private cars have to share the other half with bicyclists.  It has turned San Francisco streets into a hodge-podge of red and green lanes, with private cars caught in between.

The Wigg Party argues that motorists should be taking mass public transportation instead of driving their cars in the city.  “Well and good, ” a motorist argued back, “except that riding a bicycle is hardly considered mass transportation either.”

But bicyclists sure know how to rule the streets and overrule San Francisco’s laws.  Through critical mass.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee has threatened that if the bicyclists don’t behave, he will have to deputize the Dykes on Bikes to enforce San Francisco’s laws.  Yeah, who needs the National Guard?
