Donald Trump Seeks to Disqualify U.S. Figure Skating Team Members Bound For Winter Olympics

7D793A78-B437-4110-BE2E-2413685A8D77.jpegWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – U.S. President Donald Trump continues to send mixed messages to the American people in as far as his immigration policy is concerned.

After public statements saying that 260,000 Salvadoran and 24,000 Haitian nationals now living in the United States must leave, he recently indicated that he was willing to consider a compromise that would allow undocumented immigrants like the Dreamers (those who were brought to the U.S. as kids by their undocumented parents) to pursue a path towards citizenship.

But now, after the U.S. Olympic figure skating team members were announced, Trump has sent yet another confusing message: skaters that do not look like Americans must be disqualified from representing the U.S. at the upcoming Winter Olympics in South Korea.

About half of the U.S. figure skating team members are of Asian descent.

”We have to show the world that we are Americans,” Trump told The Adobo Chronicles, “and we cannot have foreign-looking skaters standing on the medal stands while the ‘Star-spangled Banner’ is being played.”

Breitbart News’ Steve Bannon To Invest In Rappler?

C902D5F3-0574-4DCF-B923-56C53F28963A.jpegWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Steve Bannon, once President Trump’s chief adviser, has stepped down from his role as executive chairman at Breitbart News, the conservative website that has been called the “platform for the alt-right,” Breitbart announced Tuesday.

The move comes amid pressure from Rebekah Mercer, a major conservative donor, according to the New York Times.

Bannon was recently quoted in a new book by Michael Wolff as calling Donald Trump Jr.’s June 2016 meeting with Russians in Trump Tower “treasonous.”

Now, sources close to Bannon are saying that Bannon is considering investing in Rappler, the financially and morally-troubled anti-Duterte Philippine online news source owned by former CNN correspondent Maria Ressa.

Rappler has been trying for months to raise at least  Five Million Pesos to sustain its operations. To date, its online fundraising has failed to reach 25% of its goal.

A Bannon investment in Rappler will solve Ressa’s problem in an instant…
