Aquino Family To Launch New Company To Replace Uber In The Philippines

D51330EA-9188-4159-B2CC-90C14D10D7A7MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s the law of supply and demand.  Consumers of goods and services will benefit when there is competition.

Uber’s decision to close down its operations in the Philippines left Grab with the monopoly of providing alternate transportation for Filipino commuters.

Enter the Aquino family.

Senator Bambam Aquino, in partnership with his cousins NoyNoy and Kris, is establishing a new company that is expected to fill the vaccum created by Uber and provide stiff competition to Grab. B91E5900-9528-4139-A319-EC965B41935A

Leni Robredo’s Advice To the Bar Flunkers

41A30391-594F-4045-A953-9318E926D848.jpegQUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo has a message to the 75% or so Bar examinees who flunked this year.

Robredo failed the bar exams on her first try in 1992.

”Don’t lose hope.  Learn to rise from failures,” she told the flunkers, echoing what she said when she spoke at the commencement rites of Sacred Heart College in Lucena City last March.

“Flunkers can be Vice Presidents, or even Presidents,” she said during an interview with The Adobo Chronicles.

“The 25% passing rate this year is but a reflection of reality,” she said, obviously referring the to 25% shading of ballots which she is contesting in the ongoing recount of the VP elections of 2016.

Vice President Robredo Wants Facebook To Terminate Fact-Checking Partnership With Vera Files

2D49464D-361F-4851-8C56-8993F3A60608QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Philippines’ Vice President Leni Robredo has asked Mark Zuckerberg to terminate Facebook’s partnership with Vera Files to fact-check news and information on social media.

Robredo’s demand comes just hours after Vera Files fact-checked Robredo’s claim in a recent speech at the London School of Economics that some provinces have consistently made it to the Top 10 list of the poorest in the country.

Vera Files tagged the VP’s statement as ‘False.’

That angered Robredo who said that Vera Files should lay off its hands from the Office of the Vice President and should just focus on bloggers and  DDS (Duterte Die-hard Supporters) socmed warriors.

’Vera Files has no right to embarrass the Office of the Vice President,’ Robredo spokesperson Georgina Hernandez told The Adobo Chronicles. ‘Besides, it’s very disrespecetful to the VP,’ she added.
