Trillanes Says Duterte Could Be The Next Filipino Saint

B1859B8E-23E4-439D-B2B4-12B95F75B63A.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Antonio Trillanes has no hurt feelings towards President Rodrigo Duterte — despite the latter’s recent proclamation revoking the amnesty granted to the Senator and ordering his arrest.

The amnesty granted to Trillanes by ex-Presient NoyNoy Aquino was in connection with the Senator’s failed coup attempts in the past.

In a statement posted on his Twitter account, Trillanes hinted that Duterte is nearing sainthood (‘malapit na itong is Duterte’).

This is the first time that Trillanes made a public statement in favor of the President. 70B00D6C-8DC6-48AF-A848-2AB43A49C3FF

If Trillanes’ wish would come true, Duterte’s sainthood could preempt moves to make Cory Aquino the next Filipino saint.  That hasn’t gone anywhere far.

How does ‘Santo Duterte’ sound to our readers?  Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.

De Lima Does Not Want Trillanes In Jail, But For A Different Reason

27FD889E-BE68-4FE4-B6AF-7C836CB92B79.jpegQUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Leila De Lima today said that she doesn’t want her fellow Senator Antonio Trillanes jailed.

De Lima was reacting to news reports that President Duterte has ‘revoked’ the amnesty granted to Trillanes by NoyNoy Aquino. The revocation of the amnesty opens up the possibility that Trillanes will be back in jail for two faiiled mutinees.

But unlike most of Duterte’s critics, De Lima has a different reason for coming to the defense of Trillanes.

De Lima told The Adobo Chronicles that if Trillanes ends up in jail, then she will no longer be the poster girl for political persecution.   She fears being overshadowed by Trillanes. “This will absolutely deminish my stature as the highest Philippine Opposition political figure targeted by Duterte.  It will also affect international human rights awards and plaques that I could be receiving in the future.”

”Two is a crowd,” De Lima added.

Kris Aquino’s ChowKing Franchises Will No Longer Serve Rice

262C1CF7-24AA-44C0-BC2D-82113BB99D5C.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Queen of All Media Kris Aquino just announced that rice will no longer be served at her Chowking franchise restaurants in Quezon City.

FE2F404C-3D06-4FA6-8B27-14A4A2DCB368She made this announcement in support of her cousin, Senator Bam Aquino, who tweeted that National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Jason Aquino should be fired for what he says the Filipino people are experiencing in as far as short supply and rising prices of rice are concerned.

A survey conducted by The Adobo Chronicles, however, showed that there has not been a short supply of rice in restaurants and carinderias throughout the country. There has not been an increase in rice prices on restaurant menus.  Additionally, many restaurants still offer UNLI rice (unlimited rice) on some of their menu items.

But blood is thicker than rice, so we can’t really blame Kris for supporting her cousin in his continued hallucination about runaway prices of rice in the country.

So, if you’re a fan of the ChowKing Lauriat and other rice menus at ChowKing, skip Aquino’s restaurants in Quezon City. There are hundreds of other ChowKing franchises that still serve rice.
