MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo vehemently rejects suggestions that she has overblown the taho incident involving a Chinese national and a Filipino police officer.
Jiale Zhang, 23, a fashion design student, threw the soy snack at PO1 Willam Cristobal when she was not allowed to enter the train at the Boni Avenue Station of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) because she was carrying food. Robredo called the incident a ‘wake up call’ and an insult to authorities, the Philippines and the Filipino people.
Asked what she would do if she were President, Robredo said she would build a wall made of indigenous materials around the entire Philippine Archipelago to keep Chinese nationals out, including all undocumented immigrants.
