Huawei’s Foldable Smartphone Comes With Pre-installed Cure For Selfitis

BEIJING, China (The Adobo Chronicles, Hong Kong Bureau) – In 2014, The Adobo Chronicles broke the news story that the American Psychiatric Association had officially confirmed that the taking of ‘selfies’ is a mental disorder.

Since we broke the story, studies have been conducted by various groups and institutions, including researchers from Nottingham Trent University and Thiagarajar School of Management, that confirmed the mental condition and they even developed a “Selfitis Behaviour Scale” to assess how badly a person’s selfitis is.

Now, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei, has just announced that its foldable smartphone, the Mate-X, will come pre-installed with a cure for those suffering from selfitis.

Included in Mate-X is a unique chip that monitors the number of times a phone owner takes selfies. Once the number of selfies in a 24-hour period exceeds 5, the phone’s camera automatically shuts down. The camera automatically re-installs after 36 hours.

A spokesperson for Huawei said that this unique feature is in keeping with the company’s social responsibility to their customers. “We want to do our part in their healing and recovery if they are indeed suffering from this devastating mental condition “ he added.

Locsin: It Was Never My Intention To Disrespect The Vice President

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Foreign  Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin is breaking his silence after being criticized for calling Vice President Leni Robredo “boba” (stupid).

In a Twitter post, Locsin called Robredo “boba” after she criticized the Department of Foreign Affairs for its decision tp cancel the diplomatic passports of all former envoys and government officials.

In a press statement, Locsin said his use of the word “boba” was, in fact, a term of endearment. I likened her to a cup of Boba tea which everybody likes.

”I never meant to disrespect her and the Office of the Vice President, despite the fact that she has disrespected the country and the Duterte administration before the U.N.  “ he told The Adobo Chronicles.

DFA Cancels VP Leni Robredo’s Diplomatic Passport

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Foreign  Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin announced today that he has ordered the cancellation of Vice President Leni Robredo’s diplomatlc passport, less than 24 hours after he cancelled all courtesy diplomatic passports of ex-envoys and government officials, including that of former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario.

Robredo had earlier critized DFA for cancelling the diplomatic passports of former government officials. That prompted Locsin to call her “boba” (stupid) in a Twitter post.

Locsin emphasized, however, than his decision to revoke Robredo’s passport was not in retaliation for her criticism.

Locsin said that DFA’s cancellation of the VP’s diplomatic passport was based on the fact that most, if not all of Robredo’s foreign trips were personal in nature and had nothing to do with her official duties.

The DFA Secretary told The Adobo Chronicles that he wanted to preserve the integrity of diplomatlc passports and prevent abuse and any sense of entitlement by current and former government officials.

The Office of the Vice President could not be reached for comment.
