TURKISH AIRLINES CEO SAYS MARRIAGE EQUALITY WILL HELP PREVENT INTENTIONAL PLANE CRASHES

imageISTANBUL, Turkey – The marriage equality movement has found an unusual ally — the CEO of Turkish Airlines —  who recently said that pilots may not be as prone to destructive behavior like that of the Germanwings pilot believed to have intentionally crashed a flight last month — if only they get married.

At an event Thursday, Temel Kotil told new Turkish Airlines pilots that the March 24 crash in the French Alps showed that pilots’ lifestyles are important.

Prosecutors believe that the co-pilot of Flight 9525 intentionally crashed the Barcelona-Duesseldorf flight and are trying to determine why. Kotil noted that the accident happened after the pilot Andreas Lubitz had broken up with his girlfriend.

He added: “Therefore, I am guiding those who are single toward marriage from this podium.”

Acknowledging that there are pilots  (and flight attendants) who may be gay or lesbian, Kotil called upon all nations , including Turkey, to legalize same-sex marriage so that their LGBT pilot citizens can get married, thus avoiding incidents like that of the Germanwings tragedy.

Same-gender sexual activity has been legal in Turkey since 1858, but to this day, the Turkish government  still does not recognize LGBT marriages.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – He may be the only billionaire among his colleagues in the Philippines’ congress, and one of the highest paid world athletes,  but Filipino champion boxer Manny Pacquiao is not on the Forbes list of richest Filipinos. His estimated net worth of 1.3 Billion pesos  is not good enough.

But his assets are enough to buy an airline company — or at least one of its aircraft.

Today, the Malaysian budget airlines Air Asia unveiled the prototype logo that will be painted on the fuselage of its entire fleet. While still bearing the old Air Asia symbol, most of the aircraft is emblazoned with Manny Pacquiao’s name and photo. Flights will be coded ‘Pacman 101,’ Pacman 577,’ and so on.

Reliable sources said that Pacquiao has recently signed a deal buying the majority stocks of Air Asia. The sources declined to mention any purchase price, although they have indicated that Pacquiao’s expected earnings from his May 2 championship fight with Floyd Mayweather has already been committed towards the purchase.

Upon hearing the news, Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares ordered an investigation of the sale to determine if the boxer had assets that have not been declared and that needed to be taxed. The Philippines’ tax woman has been  after Pacquiao for alleged non-payment of taxes for several years now.

Just recently, Pacquiao purchased a $12 Million Beverly Hills mansion formerly owned by rapper Sean Combs, also known as Diddy.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – As far as Filipinos are concerned, blood is thicker than water. Between Manny Pacquiao and Justin Bieber, they’d choose Pacquiao.

The 21-year-old teenage idol is undoubtedly one of the most followed celebrities on social media. As of latest count, Bieber has over 77 Million Facebook fans, more than 61 Million and close to 24 Million Twitter and Instagram followers, respectively.

But all that is changing. The numbers are rapidly going down, thanks to Filipino fans who are unfollowing Bieber by the millions. (The Philippines has a population of 100 Million.)

Since the announcement early this year that Pacquiao will face American Floyd Mayweather in what is being billed ‘The Fight of the Century’ at MGM Grand Las Vegas on May 2, Filipino Bieber fans have, in no uncertain terms, made known their support for their countryman while angrily criticizing Bieber for openly rooting for Mayweather.

Bieber has always been a Mayweather fan, standing beside the undefeated champion during his boxing matches and even hanging out with the boxer off the ring. Bieber is also reportedly singing Mayweather’s entrance music live during the May 2nd bout.

Well, the Filipinos aren’t happy and are bidding The Bieb ‘buh-bye!’
