REPUBLICANS WITHDRAW IMPEACHMENT CHARGE AGAINST OBAMA

imageWashington, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – Last week, The Adobo Chronicles reported that Republicans in Congress have voted to impeach President Barack Obama for bringing disgrace to the Office of the President.  The move stemmed from Obama wearing a tan-colored suit at a White House press briefing. Republican legislators had said that no other president in U.S. history has ever worn a light-colored suit. They were one in saying that U.S. presidents should dignify the office by wearing only dark suits.tan suit

However, after photos of Presidents Reagan, George H. and George W. Bush, as well as Clinton wearing light-colored suits appeared on social media, the Republicans immediately withdrew their impeachment charge.

“We apologize for this fiasco,” Speaker John Boehner said, adding, ” our legislative staff didn’t do a good job at research. Some heads are gonna roll!”

Meanwhile, The White House responded by saying , “Wait till the Republicans discover photos of earlier U.S. presidents wearing white suits, even after Labor Day.”image

U.S. CONGRESS JOINS THE CORPORATE EXODUS, WILL MOVE TO SWITZERLAND

imageWashington, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – The United States Congress is the latest American Institution to announce that it is moving its headquarters abroad.

The announcement came just hours after the fastfood giant Burger King said it was moving its corporate headquarters to Canada. BK joins the growing list of American companies exiting the U.S. while maintaining business operations in the country — all for the sake of paying less taxes and employing cheaper labor.

Congress will move the Capitol to Switzerland.

Speaker John Boehner said the move will free senators and congressmen from public scrutiny, media criticism and lobbying while allowing the honorable men and women of Congress to do some serious work.  The current Congress has earned the reputation as a “do-nothing” Congress.

Legislative aides, interns and contractual personnel were all excited after hearing the news of their transfer to Switzerland. “I love Swiss cheese and chocolates,” exclaimed an aide to Representative Michele Bachmann. “Wow, now I can finally realize my long-time dream of going to work in kilts,” said another.

There is, however, one group that is not happy about the move – the Capitol police. Boehner disclosed that the new U.S. Congress building which will be overlooking the Swiss Alps, will be employing Swiss guards.

UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS WITH COMMON AMERICAN SURNAMES TO BE GIVEN PRIORITY IN OBTAINING LEGAL STATUS

imageWashington, D.C. – Earlier this week, The Adobo Chronicles  reported that the Republicans in Congress have finally agreed to support comprehensive immigration reform through a bill that would grant amnesty to the estimated 11 Million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

Today, we have learned about additonal details of the almost identical bills in the Senate and the House of Representatives.

A key provision of the bills spells out who will be given priority in legalization or citizenship.

Undocumented immigrants whose last names correspond to the top 25 most common American surnames will be given priority in applying for a green card and eventual citizenship. The provision does not make any distinction among surnames acquired by birth, marriage or through court-approved petitions.

Hispanic, Latino, Chinese and Filipino immigration advocates immediately hailed the proposal considering that the list of top 25 most common American surnames includes : Garcia, Martinez, Rodriguez and Lee.
