MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – After being flooded with criticism on its release of a news tabloid, “The Philippine Gazette,” the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced that it will be coming out with an audio version of their propaganda news.
PCO told The Adobo Chronicles that beginning on June 1, 2023, it will be distributing free news cassettes at all bus terminals and LRT, MRT train stations.
“This completes our comprehensive strategy to reach each and every Filipino so that they are fully informed and updated on the goings-on in Malacañang,” a PCO spokesperson said.
Earlier, tinapa and dried fish vendors at public markets praised PCO for giving them access to free newsprint to display and sell their goods.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In the age of instant, electronic communications, the Philippines’ Presidential Communications Office (PCO) wants to stick to old tradition — printing and distributing tabloids to herald the accomplishments of the administration.
Critics have said that no one reads printed newspapers anymore these days as they look to the Internet for their daily dose of up-to-date news and developments.
But the new tabloid, “The Philippine Gazette” has brought joy and relief to thousands of Filipino tinapa (smoked fish) vendors who praised the PCO for giving them access to free newsprint to use in their small businesses.
It is customary for tinapa and other dried fish vendors to use old newspapers to display and wrap their goods. They have had difficulty obtaining used newspapers because very few people still buy or read them.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Cynthia Villar is proving to be a rabid health advocate, proposing bills left and right that are meant to promote a disease-free lifestyle for all Filipinos.
Villar filed two consecutive bills recently:
The anti-obesity bill that will establish a nationwide anti-obesity campaign that will prevent obesity among Filipinos.
The second is the anti-payatot bill that will institutionalize a nationwide anti-skinny campaign to prevent Filipinos from being too skinny.
Both bills will be funded by profits from the Villar family’s real estate companies, Vista Land and Camella Homes.
