New York, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – At Fashion Rocks 2014 Concert held at the Barclays Center in New York City last September 9, teen idol Justin Bieber was booed by the audience as he went on stage to introduce singer Rita Ora.  Then he proceeded to strip down to his Calvin Klein underwear to more boos from the crowd.

That wasn’t the end of the story.  Bieber was arrested right after the concert and booked for indecent exposure.

This is not the first time that Bieber had a run in with law enforcement.

In January this year, Bieber was arrested in Miami, Florida and booked on charges of driving under the influence (DUI), resisting arrest and driving on an expired license.

In July of 2013, Bieber was denied entry into the U.S. at the Canadian border after patrol agents scanned his Canadian passport showing multiple past misdemeanors committed by the singer — ranging from peeing into a restaurant mop bucket in New York  to failure to pay a $1,600 bill he owed an indoor skydiving facility.

In a statement  issued to the press, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) said that the singer exposed himself without the required band aid cover for his nipples and for having exceeded the limit for the amount of body tattoos one can display in public.

A spokesperson for the NYPD said that Bieber is extremely lucky that his latest arrest happened in New York instead of in another state where there is a “Three Strikes and You’re Out” law.  “Otherwise, he would have been locked in jail for life,” the spokesperson said.

Texas, Washington, California, Arkansas, Arizona and Massachusetts have all adopted the “Three Strikes” law.

APPLE CEO TIM COOK TO KEYNOTE CONVENTION OF MUGGERS AND SNATCHERS

Las Vegas, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – Apple CEO Tim Cook has been invited to be the keynote speaker for the annual convention of the International Association of Muggers and Snatchers (IAMS) to be held at Mandalay Bay Hotel in La Vegas, Nevada, from October 3-4, 2014.

With the theme “Strategies for the Future,” some 2,000 attendees will discuss new ways to deal with emerging wearable technology, including the newly unveiled Apple Watch.

In the last decade, the mugging and snatching industry has seen a disappointing decline ever since mobile phones became popular, eliminating the need for people to wear wrist watches. Wrist watch snatching was one of the top income-generating activities for IAMS members.  Since then, muggers and snatchers have switched to snatching mobile phones but people have grown smarter in protecting their hand-held devices against thieves.

IAMS president Herminegildo Nakaw who is from the Philippines, said that the association’s membership were absolutely thrilled and encouraged upon hearing of the new Apple Watch which would retail at about $349. “We’re back in business,” Nakaw said, “and we look forward to hearing from Tim Cook on more details of the Apple Watch so that we can come up with more effective mugging and snatching strategies.”

It is estimated that the mugging and snatching industry generates close to $400 Billion annually.

SAN FRANCISCANS PROTEST ‘BANDIDOS’ RESTAURANT IN THE CASTRO: POLITICAL CORRECTNESS OR GENDER BIAS?

Bandidos_Interior_6-600x398San Francisco, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – What do ‘gangster,’ ‘mob,’ ‘mafia’ and ‘bandido’ have in common?  They all mean criminal or outaw.

There is a Mob Bar in Las Vegas, a Gangsters Bar and Grill in Wisconsin, and lots of Italian Mafia restaurants across the U.S. But in San Francisco – in the heart of politically-correct gay Castro District, some residents are protesting the name of a new Mexican restaurant on Market and Sanchez Streets — Bandidos.

Among those opposed to the name is openly-lesbian Latina comedian Marga Gomez, whose stand-up repertoire often includes names and labels that are not necessarily PG13.  She’s one that would call a spade a spade. We can’t confirm this, but she probably had called out Hooters Restaurant at some point in one of her gigs. She said she would never step inside the restaurant unless it changes its name, and has asked all her friends to do the same.

So why all the fuss about the restaurant name Bandidos?  Does San Francisco have lesser tolerance for criminals and outlaws?  If the protesters lived in Las Vegas, Wisconsin or any other city or state where bars and eateries are named after shady characters, would they be protesting in similar fashion? Is there some sort of gender or sexual orientation twist to their protest?

Well, in an investigation conducted by The Adobo Chronicles, the real reason for the protest was because some language and grammar freaks discovered a glaring error in the new restaurant’s drinks (bebidas) menu. Their margarita drink is named “Bandido Margarita.”  In Spanish, adjectives and nouns must agree, gender-wise.  So the correct name should have been “Bandida Margarita.”

By the way, our favorite Bandidos drink is Juan In A Million. (See drinks menu below). Now that’s grammatically correct because bandido and Juan are both male.
