Robredo Writes Excuse Letter For Her Absence From Cabinet Meeting

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – When their children miss school, parents write an excuse letter to the teacher or principal.  When Cabinet members miss a meeting, they write an excuse letter to the President.

That’s exactly what Vice President Leni Robredo did today.  She missed what would have been her first Cabinet meeting as newly-designated Drug Czar last night.

Upon receiving the President’s memo warning her of a repeat absence from Cabinet meetings, Robredo immediately wrote an excuse letter to Duterte.

In her letter, she cited the traffic on EDSA which would have made her late anyway if she attended the meeting.

”I am sure Metro Manila commuters can empathize with me because they too have frequent experience commuting from Quezon City (where the VP residence is located) to Manila (where Malacanang is located).

”I promise to be present at the next meeting,” she said in her letter, adding, “I respectfully request an exemption from the anti-wang wang policy so that I can arrive at the meeting on time.”

Malacanang: President Duterte Wasn’t Using A Cane

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Malacanang has finally broken its silence amid all the rumors and speculation arising from President Rodrigo Duterte’s health status and the unbearable pain he experienced while in Japan to attend the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

Photos of Duterte  using a cane dominated mainstream as well as social media, prompting critics to demand that the Palace release a medical bulletin on the President.

Today, the Presidential Communications Coordinating Office (PCOO) released an unedited photo of Duterte while in Japan showing the alleged cane he was using to help him walk.

Lo and behold,  it wasn’t a cane.  It was a selfie stick!

Now we can all put the rumors and speculation to rest!

Congratulations, PCOO.  You are finally doing your job.

U.S.A. Has Two Candidates In Miss Grand International

CARACAS, Venezuela (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – All the controversy regarding the travel woes of Miss Philippines Samantha Lo are much ado about nothing.

Lo, who is the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Grand International being held here, was reported to to have been barred in Paris from continuing on to Venezuela because of  “passport issues.”

Reports indicate that she had a “fake” Philippine passport, having obtained it from a “fixer.”

But all that doesn’t matter. As reported by ABS-CBN News, the local pageant organizer, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, confirmed Lo had a U.S. passport, proof she is a citizen of the United States.

With all that said, U.S.A. has two candidates for the Miss Grand International Crown.

How cool is that?
