EDSA Anniversary: Millions Expected To Take To The Streets On February 25

IMG_9328.PNGBAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – Up to two million people are expected to take to the streets on Saturday, February 25 — the day the Philippines commemorates the anniversary of EDSA People Power.  It was that fateful day 31 years ago that President Ferdinand E. Marcos was ousted through what is being billed a peaceful revolution.

All roads will lead not to EDSA, but to Baguio City, the country’s summer capital, for this weekend’s culmination of the month-long annual Panagbenga Flower Festival.

One of the iconic photos of EDSA 1 was that of a nun offering a single flower to army personnel on a tank.

This year, in Baguio, it will not be one 🌺 flower, but thousands.

Happy Panagbenga!
