No Burkinis At All Trump Hotels And Resorts, And Look What Else

imageLAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles, Las Vegas Bureau) – Taking his cue from recent news reports that France had started to implement a “no burkini” policy in its beaches, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump told reporters today that a similar rule will be implemented immediately at all Trump hotels and resorts.

A Trump spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles that the “no burkini” policy at swimming pools, saunas and jacuzzis is consistent with the candidate’s anti-Muslim rhetoric throughout his campaign.

imageBut in order not be accused of racism or anti-religion, Trump has also decided to ban women of any color or creed from wearing towels on their heads in any public venues at his properties.

That’s right, women, no wrapping your hair with towels after a shower or dip in the pool.

BREAKING: Senator De Lima Wants Senator Pacquiao Expelled For Violating Philippine Constitution

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Leila De Lima today urged her colleagues to expel Senator Manny Pacquiao for violation of the Philippine Constitution.

De Lima’s call to her fellow senators came just days after Pacquiao delivered a privilege speech defending the proposed restoration of the death penalty in the country.

During Pacquiao’s speech, and in response to interpellation by De Lima, the boxer-turned-politician repeatedly invoked God to justify his stand favoring the death penalty.

“When the government punishes, it’s not an individual act. That’s approved by God. That’s what the Bible says,” Pacquiao said.

De Lima, who was Justice Secretary during the Aquino administration, said: “Clearly, Senator Pacquiao, by invoking the Almighty, violated Article II, Section 6, of the 1987 Philippine Constitution which states ‘The separation of Church and State shall be inviolable.’ ”

Philippine senators cannot be impeached.  However, they can be expelled by a three-fourths vote of the members of the Senate.

Will Cory And NoyNoy Aquino Be The First Mother-and-Son Saints?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If a Jesuit priest close to the family of Cory Aquino had his way, the late president would become the Philippines’ third Filipino saint.

The priest, Fr. Catalino Arevalo, sees no problem with starting the beatification process for Cory since she was a person with “extraordinary Christian virtues.” As per rules of the Catholic Church, beatification can only begin six years after a person’s death. Cory died of colon cancer in August 2009.

Today, Fr. Arevalo told The Adobo Chronicles that he is also planning to start working on having NoyNoy Aquino become the fourth Filipino saint, citing the ex-president’s noble crusade under “daang matuwid.”  Under PNoy’s administration, he has managed to eliminate all political and social evils that have plagued the country for many decades, Fr. Arevalo said.

“It is best to start laying the groundwork for PNoy’s beatification while he still alive so that when the time comes, the long and tedious sainthood process can be fast-tracked,” Arevalo added.

If both Cory and NoyNoy become saints, they will be the very first mother and son ever in the history of the Roman Catholic Church to be accorded the extraordinary and divine honor, not only for themselves, but for the entire Filipino nation.

The Philippines’ two saints are Lorenzo Ruiz and Pedro Calungsod.
