But minutes later, she totally changed her tune and blamed incarcerated Senator Leila De Lima for her being kicked out of the country.

It appears now that the basis for Fox’s deportation was an administrative order approved by De Lima who was then Secretary of Justice under President NoyNoy Aquino’s administration.

”I apologize to the Duterte government for barking at the wrong tree.  Nobody told me that the order prohibiting foreign nationals from participating in political activity was from the previous administration,” Fox told reporters.

”All I can say is ‘Mea Culpa,’ she added.

Well, we’re almost sure that Santo Rodrigo Duterte will forgive her.

Pope Francis Proclaims Australian Nun Sister Patricia Fox Another Living Saint

Well, it looks like the Pope is on a roll about naming living Saints.

Today, The Vatican announced that Francis has proclaimed Sister Patricia Fox as another living Saint.

Fox is the Australian nun who has just been deported from the Philippines for violating the terms of her travel visa to the country.

The Vatican said that Fox has been designated the Patron Saint of deportees.

Pope Francis Proclaims Second-Ever Living Saint

But The Vatican has a different take on Duterte.  As a matter of fact, Pope Francis just proclaimed the Philippine President as a living saint, second only to Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

In his proclamation, the Pope said that Duterte is very misunderstood. “Despite his oftentimes insensitive comments, he has a good heart.  He is a champion for the poor, the down-trodden, and those whose paths have led them the wrong way, like the corrupt and the drug addicts,” Francis said.

The Pope’s proclamation is a big blow to supporters of the late President Cory Aquino who have been advocating for her to be canonized as the third Filipino Saint.
