INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (The Adobo Chronicles) – Emboldened by supporters after he signed a state legislation legalizing discrimination against gay men and women based on religious belief, Governor Mike Pence today issued an Executive Order in preparation for next week’s Easter celebration.

Executive Order 666 prohibits state and local government offices as well as vendors and contractors that receive government funding from holding Easter egg hunt gathering and activities that feature rainbow-colored eggs.

In issuing the order, Pence said ” We need to start promoting religious and moral values among our citizens while they are still young. We will not allow our young kids to be exposed to the moral propensity of the gay community. Having the gay colors in such a revered tradition during Easter is not appropriate for the children.”

Pence ordered the National Guard to monitor all Easter egg hunt activities within the state to make sure that eggs be painted only in one color of the organizer’s choice. Several colors on eggs that even slightly resemble the gay flag will be confiscated.

ONE MILLION TO DESCEND UPON INDIANAPOLIS FOR THIS YEAR’S INDIANA GAY PRIDE

CCINP-LogoINDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (The Adobo Chronicles) – While many groups and businesses have launched various campaigns to boycott Indiana as a result of a new law allowing gay discrimination based on religious belief, a national campaign has been launched going in the opposite direction: In instead of Out.

The National Coalition of Hoosier Expatriates (NCHE) has launched a campaign which it hopes will bring 1 Million people to Indianapolis during its Circle City IN Pride scheduled for June 5-13, 2015. Past attendance during Indianapolis’ gay pride celebration has topped 100,000. (Indiana is known as the Hoosier State and people from Indiana are called Hoosiers.)

GAYSWELCOMEAs part of this Million people campaign, national companies and local businesses — from airlines and car rental companies to hotels, from restaurants to retail stores — will be displaying a special placard on their storefronts, check-in counters, marquees and rental equipment to identify themselves as gay-friendly.

Only businesses that display the rainbow placard will be patronized by visiting gay and lesbian expatriates, their lovers, friends and straight allies.

In addition, all dollar bills that will be spent in Indianapolis by visiting pride contingents will be stamped with the rainbow flag as a way to demonstrate the power of the gay dollar.

The Adobo Chronicles also learned that Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express will be coming out with special credit cards that will have a photo of the Indiana State Capitol flying the rainbow flag.  People who use these special credit cards will get zero percent interest on purchases made within Indiana for the duration of Pride Week. (So don’t leave home without them.)

Watch out, Indiana. Gay Power has been unleashed!

FILIPINO BISHOPS TO DIVORCE PROPONENTS: ‘ALWAYS THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK’

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – ‘Always think before you click.’

That was the answer by Miss Philippines Universe Pia Wurtzbach to the final pageant question on what she thought of Internet censorship.

Apparently, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has stolen that infamous line from Wurtzbach.

In a statement following the Philippine Senate’s rejection of a proposed new law legalizing divorce, CBCP President Socrates Villegas said that a failed marriage is not an argument for divorce but rather a proof of the necessity that only mature people enter into it. “Always think before you click,” he reiterated.

Villegas likened divorce to test-driving a car and replacing it with a better one should it fail.

“It is plainly dehumanizing to both spouses to allow for a test-run, through a first marriage, and then grant the possibility of a replacement of spouses should the test fail,” he said.

“It is ironic that those most vocal in their support for divorce also hold themselves out as champions of human rights – and there can be no violation of human rights more egregious than to treat human persons the same way that you treat vehicles and appliances,” he added.

Wurtzbach is seriously considering filing plagiarism charges against Villegas for copying her winning pageant answer.

Villegas, however, countered that as a bishop, he cannot be sued because in the Philippines, there is separation of church and state.

That’s tongue-in-cheek Monsignor!
