HARRY ROQUE CALLS LENI ROBREDO A “PIG”

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque is not one who would mince his words when responding to criticism and statements from Rodrigo Duterte’s critics, including the Vice President.

Reacting to a recent statement from Leni Robredo that she would volunteer to be among the first to receive the Covid-19 vaccine once it’s available, Roque said that the VP was a bit too late because Duterte had already volunteered first.

He then proceeded to call Robredo a “pig.”

A “guinea pig,” that is.

FIERCE DUTERTE CRITIC ANTONIO TRILLANES TURNS DDS

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – He is considered Rodrigo Duterte’s fiercest critics and has gone as far as the International Criminal Court to file a complaint versus the Philippine President for crimes against humanity.

Now, former Senator Antonio Trillanes has turned DDS, a die-hard Duterte supporter.

What brought about the political wind change is unclear but Trillanes himself admitted it in a post on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Is he planning to run for President in 2022 and is hoping to get Duterte’s endorsement and blessing? Or did he just have a “coming to Jesus” moment and suddenly realized all the accusations he has hurled against the popular leader were nothing but illusions? Calls by The Adobo Chronicles to Trillanes were unanswered as of press time.

This is a developing story.

ADOBO CHRONICLES ‘OTHER WOMAN OF THE YEAR’ : leni robredo

SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – It’s that time of year when The Adobo Chronicles picks its “Woman of the Year” to recognize that one person who has had the most impact on local and international news headlines and developments.

Our choice was easy. Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo has had an unprecedented presence in the news headlines this year, thanks to her well-oiled press and social media machinery, spouting criticism on almost anything and everything about the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte. She did it in such bilingual audacity, making her sameness with both the masses and the social elite a true cosmetic wonder.

But because she is not the first Filipino woman to be given a similar honor, we chose to name her something that would be exclusive to her: “The Other Woman of the Year.”

In 1986, former President Corazon Aquino became the first Filipino to become TIME’s Person of the Year. In 2018, Maria Ressa was included in Time’s Person of the Year 2018, as one of “The Guardians”, a number of journalists from around the world combating the “War on Truth”.

We congratulate La Leni, our 2020 Other Woman of the Year!
