Los Angeles, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – A famous DJ in California is suing the maker of a popular Filipino pork sausage, known as longganisa, for package mislabeling that led her to eat meat. DJ Miki Taka is a practising vegan (does not eat meat and dairy).
The product in question is a frozen package of Vigan longganisa sold at 99 Ranch Supermarket.
Earlier, Ms. Taka posted the following comment on her Instagram account:

Vigan is, in fact, a city in Ilocos Sur province in Northern Philippines. Vigan longganisa is a popular delicacy in this historic city that has been designated a United Nations (UNESCO) World Heritage Centre.
Ms. Taka mistakenly assumed that the package label contained a typographical error and that she was buying a vegan sausage.
She is suing 99 Ranch Market for a undisclosed amount, citing emotional and physical distress and violation of her sacred lifestyle.
